Overview & Responsibilities:
The Global Franchise Management group is responsible for establishing and maintaining a cohesive Star Trek franchise presence cross-company. The Managing Editor for StarTrek.com will lead editorial content for site that expands and enhances the Star Trek franchise and engages the growing audience.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Grow and manage day-to-day editorial calendar around key moments, tent pole events, premieres, launches, etc
• Help evolve StarTrek.com's editorial voice and POV• Write, edit and layout articles
• Work with video lead and social media lead to create cohesive site experiences
• Ensure deadlines are met by writers, bloggers and content contributors
• Liaise with PR, marketing and consumer products teams to work on pieces that enhance user experience
• Optimize editorial process
• Expand StarTrek.com's content offerings to reach a younger and more diverse audience
• Expand editorial content selection on site
• Help build a seamless workflow for access to StarTrek.com
• Drive and build awareness and engagement
Basic Qualifiications:
• 5 years experience writing, editing, interviewing
• BS/BA Degree or equivalent experience
• Adobe Photoshop experience
• Experience running or working on a website
• Strong editorial and news judgement
• Passion and knowledge about television and pop culture
• Entertainment news or news experience in a leadership position
Additional Qualifications:
• Experience in brand building and evolution
• Video production background
