Description:
The Specialty Retail Development team at ViacomCBS is responsible for driving everyday placement and unique programs at Specialty retailers for all priority properties in the portfolio. The team develops cross category retail programs that include all Lines of Business such as Apparel, Accessories, Home Goods, Toys, Publishing, CPG, HBA and Home Entertainment. The team focuses on key strategies and tactics that will help drive product placement, marketing, engagement and sales in line with our overall Consumer Products goals. Specialty Retail liaises with all departments within the ViacomCBS ecosystem such as CP Licensing teams, Retail Marketing, Creative, Talent, International, Consumer Marketing, Franchise etc.
We are searching for a Manager of Specialty retail to help us deliver on that mission by working alongside the Sr. Director in creating, pitching, executing and building out these programs. The position will primarily focus on contract management, building and crafting pitch decks, writing meeting recaps, routing marketing materials to key partners, and leading and maintaining licensees and buyer contact lists.
Responsibilities:
• Build and manage relationships, field requests, and keep key Specialty retailers informed
• Field requests from and provide updates to all the key internal teams (Franchise, Creative, Legal, Marketing) on an ongoing basis
• Handle internal contract tracking system - responsibilities include inputting amendments, renewals, and new contracts
• Build and lead all team documents and calendars. Placement grids, program tracking documents, end of year placement summary, financial tracking
• Route product development and marketing elements for internal approval
• Build targeted presentations to pitch retailers and provide business updates
• Work with Retail Sr. Director, licensing partners, and retailers to sell in cross category retail programs
• Assist in the preparation and the development of licensee/partner presentations for summits and/or trade shows
• Monitor competitive franchises and keep up to date with industry and retailer news
• Regular attendance of trade shows and social industry functions where applicable
Basic Qualifications:
• 3 years of experience in Licensing and/or Retail
Additional Qualifications:
• Comfortable multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced, high-performance group with numerous projects at once in a fast paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to write clear, concise copy
• Comfortable presenting in front of large audiences
• Strong experience with PowerPoint, Excel, etc. Photoshop/Illustrator, if possible
• Skilled diplomat who works effectively with internal departments and external partners
• Creative teammate with high energy and a passion for product, entertainment, trends, fashion, culture, and marketing
• Clear strategic vision combined with actions that are defined and executed with urgency
• Knowledge of marketing tactics across all platforms including on-air, digital, social and experiential
• An analytical mind; able to provide insightful conclusions and recommendations based on trend data and market research
• Excellent planning and project management proficiencies
• Ability to effectively elevate strategic concerns to senior management in a timely and accurate manner
• Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally
