Overview & Responsibilities:
The Content Analytics team develops strategic insights to further the company's global content strategy, with a specific focus on content valuation, return on investment, windowing and industry intelligence. The team is highly visible within the company, with senior leaders at the brands and platforms using the insights to inform critical, companywide content and distribution decisions. The Director will be an integral member of the Content Optimization team and be responsible for providing support and analysis across the team's breadth of work.
• Collaborate with creative and commercial teams across ViacomCBS to identify critical content analytical capabilities - translate requirements into data science development priorities and program design guidelines for data science team
• Interpret insights from data science models to inform business decisions for creative and commercial teams; solve business problems with in-depth analysis
• Carry out descriptive and predictive analyses of content, viewership, and financial datasets to address ad hoc questions supporting specific business decisions
• Collaborate with data science team to devise and refine sound, creative modeling techniques which improve content decision making across ViacomCBS
• Partner with data science team to assess data infrastructure and quality and drive improvements
• Identify key sources of data internally and work through the necessary steps with relevant business units, technology and legal teams to facilitate access; communicate process enhancements that could allow better data capture; identify valuable external data providers and help structure partnerships to acquire
• Create insightful and concise presentations distilling analysis to inform decision-making
• Conduct market research, track and compile industry trends and competitive analysis
Basic Qualifications:
• 4 years of experience in top-tier consulting, banking or strategy role
• Strong quantitative skills including extensive experience in financial & business case modeling and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• BA/BS degree from top university/college
Additional Qualifications:
• Understanding of media market, digital video, distributor trends, and new technologies and platforms
• Experience with applying analytics to content development, distribution, and viewership in the media industry (preferred)
• Ability to build and maintain dashboards (e.g. in Excel or Tableau) to track business critical KPIs
• Familiarity with SQL, Python, or R also helpful, but not required
• Outstanding written and oral communication including expertise in Microsoft PowerPoint and presentation writing
• Ability to proactively prioritize and manage multiple projects with tight deadlines
• Goal-oriented team player
• Understanding of economic theory and econometrics strongly preferred
• Media industry experience preferred
• MBA preferred
