How do I hire a Department Assistant, Music & Talent? Department Assistant, Music & Talent - Entertainment & Youth Brands
Overview and Responsibilities
Reporting to the SVP, Celebrity Talent and VP, Music - this position will provide full support to both executives while contributing to the department’s overall objectives.
Responsibilities
(but not limited to):
• Provides administrative support to the Senior VP of Celebrity Talent & VP of Music including scheduling, phones, travel, and expenses
• Prepare documents and decks as needed for senior team meetings with executives for tentpoles and series
• Organize information for the department including artist tracker, project updates, album release schedules, and more
• Work with record labels, artist management teams, publicists, etc to coordinate meet & greets, presentations, screenings, & listening sessions for the department
• Collect, organize, and distribute promotional & production assets and information to internal teams for tentpole events, series, & campaigns
• Coordinate creative & production calls between MTV and talent/artist teams
• Build promotional recap reports for key music/TV/film priorities including premieres, social takeovers, & campaigns
• Assist with on-site coverage at talent interviews, performances, & events as needed
• Talent liaison for major tentpole events including the VMAs, Movie & TV Awards
• Brainstorm creative ideas with the team for both music and celebrity priorities
• Keep up to date with the latest music, movie, TV, & pop culture trends
• Develop & cultivate relationships with key members of the music, TV, & film industry
• Attend artist showcases, concerts, screenings, industry events
Basic Qualifications
• 1-2 years experience, including internships
• Bachelor’s Degree
Additional Qualifications
• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Articulate, flexible, collaborative, and approachable demeanor
• Excellent organizational and time management skills; paying specific attention to accuracy, detail, and deadlines
• You have excellent multi-tasking skills and able to prioritize and be flexible in a high pressure, fast paced environment
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Strong sense of urgency and ability to complete tasks in a timely manner
• In depth knowledge of music, television, film, and pop culture trends
