Overview:

The Senior Character Artist/Illustrator is responsible for crafting and completing all character art for the properties in their creative team. Assists the Character Art Director in developing new exploratory styles to improve all properties. Aides in the development of the Junior Character Artists.

Responsibilities
include and are not limited to:
• Implement character art that translates the values of the properties for off-channel use
• Ensure a solid presentation of the properties voice across all businesses
• Ensure modeling and styling of the properties characters
• Works directly with Character Art Director in developing new exploratory styles to improve all properties.
• Work with Character Art Director to implement character art with property sensibility
• Work with Character Art Director to produce character art for styleguides, packaging, apparel, publishing, and other lines of business
• Learn the style and personality of the characters
• To be thoroughly acquainted and maintain awareness of the property, characters and current programming
• Blue line and correct character art to ensure accurate representation of the property
• Work with West Coast Art Director to develop character art for concept boards for new business based on creative strategy

Basic Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of Character Design experience

Additional Qualifications:

• Expert in illustrating all character art properties.
• Excellent creative abilities and aesthetic judgment
• Expertise in illustration, blue lining, inking, coloring and different mediums
• Knowledge of Macintosh computer use (proficient in Illustrator and Photoshop)
• Significant experience in licensed character art
• Excellent expertise in illustration, blue lining, inking, coloring and different mediums
• Extensive knowledge and expertise in execution of animated properties
• Ability to explore new styles and mediums for the properties.
• Knowledge of kid’s culture and an understanding of their present challenges
• Ability to adapt most styles
• A highly developed feel for Nickelodeon and Nicktoons style
• Ability to work in pressured and constantly changing environments.
• Ability to manage a greater work load.
