WHAT IS THE ROLE
Working directly into the Head Of Marketing, the Brand Manager plays a key role in developing and implementing all marketing campaigns for these innovative entertainment brands. This role gives an opportunity to manage a wide variety of integrated campaigns, many including major media spend.
This role combines creativity and strategic thinking, requiring the ability to distil complex marketing strategy into compelling creative briefs and presentations.
This role includes specific responsibility for supplying all paid marketing campaign assets, so would suit a candidate with a love of production and an eye for detail. The Brand Manager is the heart of the campaign process, collaborating with internal departments and external agencies to oversee the delivery of assets such as poster artwork, VOD and social media videos.
This role calls upon a broad knowledge of all media but particularly a deep understanding of social & digital marketing, feeding in expert insight on the latest formats and trends to plans.
This role leads the relationship with our affiliates such as Sky, Virgin Media, BT and Freeview, providing them with regular updates on our content, supplying assets such as clips and artwork, and reviewing their use of our content as our brand guardian.
This role involves managing one direct report - the Marketing and Press Intern. The Brand Manager trains the Intern in all general admin, such as managing the finance process and raising POs, and handles these tasks themselves where needed.
Responsibilities:
Creative strategy:
• Work with Head of Marketing to develop integrated marketing strategies for all campaigns, with specific responsibility for social media and digital
• Write creative briefs for on-air promos
• Develop campaign sell-in presentations, distilling complex strategies into compelling ideas
• Work with Head of Marketing, media agency and internal departments to develop post-campaign analysis and reporting on projects
Production:
• Lead the implementation of all campaigns, working with internal teams, external agencies and partners to ensure all assets are produced in the correct format and successfully delivered. This includes writing detailed deliverables sheets and production briefs
• Review and approve assets created by third parties for marketing campaigns
Relationship building:
• Lead day-to-day relationship with affiliates and partners. Supply them with upcoming show information and assets
• Review affiliate use of brand assets.
• Build close working relationship with external agencies, attending all agency meetings
• Collaborate closely with internal departments such as Media Planning, Creative, PR and Digital.
Process management:
• Manage Marketing and Press Intern, working jointly with PR team (Intern’s time is split 50:50 between Marketing and PR) including clear delegation of appropriate tasks, managing the prioritisation of projects and regular reviews
• Oversee the Intern tracking the allocation of budget and monitoring suppliers, raising POs and arranging supplier payments where needed
• Work with Legal team to ensure all marketing and use of assets by third parties is in accordance with contracts and best practices
WHAT SKILLS DO YOU NEED
• Experience of playing a major role in planning and implementing integrated marketing campaigns to deadline and to budget
• Experience of supplying a range of assets for marketing campaigns, including TV, VOD, poster, press, radio, digital and social
• Experience of working with and managing brand, media and distribution partners or clients.
• Knowledge of the business landscape our brands operate in and keen interest in TV and entertainment. Ideally including a love of current comedy Central and Paramount Network shows
• Strategic thinking – ability to distil complex strategies into simple presentations, experience writing a range of creative briefs
• Creativity – the ability to come up with innovative ideas for a range of budgets to gain our audience’s attention
• Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise (particularly important working across two brands)
• Social and digital expertise - significant knowledge of social media marketing. Ongoing knowledge of the latest formats, changes and new products
• Perform under pressure and pay close attention to detail
• Good communicator, excellent presentation skills, takes the initiative and is hard working with a positive attitude
• Ability to manage a direct report
• Technical skills – competent in all standard Office programmes, including Excel and PowerPoint, ideally able to perform simple editing on Adobe Premiere (with extra training available where required)
