Marketing & Partner Insights (MPI) team is a division of Advanced Advertising that is charged with making the consumer connection with Viacom’s many varied audiences across all platforms by providing expertise in many segments including Kids, Teens, Millennials, GenX, Moms, LGBTQ, Multiculturals, Families and more. We specialize in studies, surveys, data sets, forecasting and metrics that help clients further their knowledge of targets, engagement and ad effectiveness.
Reporting to the SVP of Marketing & Partner Insights and Advertising Science, this Vice President will be an experienced leader responsible for overseeing the ad sales research efforts for Viacom’s young adult brands, which includes MTV, VH1, and Comedy Central. This group specializes in insights, culture and trends related to Millennials and GenZ and the consumer categories that are integral to these cohorts. This role is an integral member and contributor to Viacom’s Advanced Advertising’s senior management
• Partner and liaise with senior sales management on brand strategy and positioning of our properties in the marketplace
• Measure the effectiveness of traditional and non-traditional advertising campaigns in partnership with Integrated Marketing and Viacom Vantage
• Author and present consumer-focused research on brands, generations, trend and categories, as well as data-driven research, to internal and external clients
• Lead forward-thinking thought leadership that advance the business and elevate our brands’ position as experts
• Innovatively utilize cross-platform viewership data (linear, digital, and social) to create thoughtful and provocative audience analyses
• Inspire new, advanced data analytics methodologies that challenge traditional research methodologies
• Possess strong data fluency; teach and promote among junior staff members
• Manage relationship with Pricing and Inventory team to guide research staff through the creation of thoughtful selling estimates; lead new methodology for estimates process
• Effectively manage, motivate, and inspire staff to maximize their potential and grow to the next level
Basic Qualifications
• 12 years’ experience in media or consumer research. Expertise on young adult and youth consumers desired
• Ability to solve problems strategically, think creatively, and be an assertive leader and facilitator of collaboration
• Expertise in linear, digital and social measurement and methodologies and related reporting systems and experience with media estimates
• Knowledge of a wide variety of syndicated data tools (MRI, YouGov, Kantar, Comscore)
• Superb oral and written communication skills
• Highly organized, strong attention to detail, ability to work and lead under pressure and multitask
• Proven fiscally responsible in overseeing projects and budgets
• Related college degree
