Full Time Job
Reporting into the SVP, Corporate FP&A, this role involves moving beyond compiling data to telling the story behind the numbers and linking to day-to-day operational considerations. The VP will become involved in, but not limited to, global cash flow and capital expenditure forecasting and financial reporting. The VP will also play a critical role in a companywide initiative to improve cash flow and capital expenditure reporting/planning processes. Lastly, the VP has direct responsibility and oversight for the strategic financial aspects of the Company’s Short Term Incentive Plan (STIP). Works in conjunction with Corporate FP&A team directly supporting Viacom CFO and EVP Financial Operations. Has one direct report at the Senior Manager level.
CASH FLOW RESPONSIBILITIES
• Preparation of Monthly Viacom Consolidated Cash Flows and supporting analysis to be distributed to Senior Executive team
• Prepare periodic Cash Flow forecast package
• Prepare Annual Cash Flow Budget Package
• Prepare bottoms-up forecast of Domestic Media Networks cash flow for Budget and Forecasts
• Responsible for Cash Flow Board of Directors presentation slides and detailed support pages
• Communicate key business drivers of Cash Flow variances
• Identify and communicate possible scenarios, associated risks and opportunities to include in the cash flow reviews
• Proactively working with Divisions to manage quarter end Cash Flow targets
• Communicate with stakeholders in a clear and concise manner (including Treasury, Accounting, Operating Channel Groups, etc.)
• Identify issues/patterns and provide recommendations for improvement
• Prepare daily cash balance forecast the next two months on a monthly basis and other ad hoc cash requests for Treasury, Investor Relations, and other stakeholders
• Secondary contact HFM systems issues
CAPITAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Preparation of Capital Expenditure Board of Directors presentation slides and detailed support pages
• Communicate key business drivers of Capital Expenditures variances
• Prepare periodic Capital Expenditure Forecast/Reporting Package
• Provide strategy, analysis and insight around periodic forecasts and annual budget of capital expenditures, including Identifying and communicating scope and prioritization of projects
STIP RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ownership of STIP performance model and overall expense forecasting
• Ownership of STIP financial adjustments for each forecast and Comp Committee meeting
• Support to EVP, Chief People Officer and SVP, Global Total Rewards for interactions with CEO and Comp Committee
• Support for end of year Comp Committee presentations including current year forecasted payout, current year proposal payout for approval, and upcoming year design and grids
• Quarter and year-end accrual support with expense phasing to Controller’s Group
Basic Qualifications
• 15 years of relevant experience, Media industry a plus
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
Additional Qualifications
• Prior Cash Flow Management experience
• Process improvement/simplification; ability to work with technology groups to automate and streamline processes
• MBA and/or CPA
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint Skills
• Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Self-motivated team player
• Excellent communication/interpersonal skills; both written and verbal
• Executive poise and ability to work with Senior Management across various departments
• Strong analytical abilities
