Job Title: Talent Manager
Department: Elephant House Studios
Reporting To: VP, Elephant House Studios
Location: Hawley Crescent, London
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
Elephant House Studios, the in-house production arm of Channel 5, produces nearly 125 hours of television each year for Channel 5, MTV, Comedy Central and Viacom.
We also pitch to the wider UK market, and are building relationships with and creating ideas for all major broadcasters.
With this in mind, we are looking to hire a highly experienced Talent Manager to source, hire and create talent pools for all of our genres, currently Factual, Specialist Factual, Comedy, Entertainment and Reality programmes. This will need to cover all posts from Runner to Executive Producer.
Working closely with the Senior Management team you will hire the best creatives and production management staff, and ensure that this is done in a fair, equitable and transparent way.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Working closely with Exec’s and the Production Management team to be responsible for sourcing, interviewing and hiring the best talent for each programme
• Working closely with the Head of Production to ensure that the best production management staff are hired
• Maintaining talent pools for each position from Runner to Executive Producer
• Work with Uplands TV (and future investments) to hire the best diverse talent for their productions
• Organise regular talent evenings and networking events
• Represent Elephant House Studios at external networking and recruitment events, including Edinburgh International TV Festival
• Help ensure that Elephant House has a diverse workforce
• Overall responsibility for Elephant House Studios social media platforms
• Run the intern process for Elephant House Studios for three interns per year, each hired and mentored for a one-year period
• Work with the Senior Management team on performance issues and promotions of staff
• Maintain a database of top talent
• Monitor the diversity of staff, and take strides with and without Viacom to ensure that our workforce accurately reflects the audience that we serve
EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:
• Significant experience working in Talent Management in television
• Strong organisational skills
• The ability to respond to last minute hires, finding people at short notice
• Experience of managing and running entry-level schemes
• A proven ability to work across multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong knowledge of the TV industry and who the key players are in other Broadcasters and Indies
• The ability to headhunt and attract top TV talent
• Strong social media skills
• Proven experience of representing organisations online and at talent events
• Proven experience of sourcing, hiring and retaining a diverse workforce
