Full Time Job
South Park Digital Studios is looking for a top-notch, driven web developer and frontend engineer to deliver, maintain, and refine dynamic, multi-platform, multi-lingual experiences to users across the globe. The ideal candidate is an experienced Front-End Engineer as well as a technology enthusiast with exceptional CSS/Javascript/PHP/SQL skills and comes from an Agile environment, with the patience and communication skills necessary to work with and assist development teams and end users worldwide. Solid knowledge of HTML, CSS3, PHP, SQL, and JavaScript is critical. Please note that you must provide a portfolio and code samples to be considered.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Update, create, maintain and debug websites, apps, and other digital assets
• Creation of new pages, tools, units, contests, and other digital widgets for both internal and external consumption
• Collaborate with end users and other Viacom stakeholders to iterate designs based on feedback
• Help localize for and support our affiliates located in South America, Europe, and elsewhere
• Assist our social media team to support social initiatives and events
• Help execute marketing plans for major releases, projects, and tent pole events
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 2 years experience with complex HTML5, CSS3, PHP, and Javascript, including modern techniques like responsive design and continuous integration
• Experience working with emerging libraries/frameworks/tools such as jQuery, Backbone, Lodash, Modernizer, RequireJS, Less, Sass, Facebook API, and OpenGraph
• Ability to evaluate source code of third party libraries to gain deeper understanding about their strengths, weaknesses and suitability for a given task.
• Experience working with software teams, especially with use of code versioning software, like svn and git.
• Experience with issue tracking systems like JIRA
• Familiarity with Python, as you may occasionally interact with other parts of the application stack
• Basic familiarity with the UNIX/Linux command line
• Experience with Amazon AWS and cloud computing
• Experience with caching systems (memcache, reds, akamai, etc) is a plus
• Experience with reporting systems (like Omniture) is a plus
• Experience working with high volume web sites, media companies is a plus
• Fluency in Spanish or German is a plus
