Role: Social Media Manager
Department: Marketing and Communications, Nickelodeon UK and Ireland
Reporting to: Director of Marketing
The Social Media Manager will be responsible for the management and oversight of the network’s social media marketing. From the long-term strategy and platform roll-out to content development the Social Media Manager will be a champion of our brands and varied audience. This person will be able to get into the head of a parent and tweenager. A social-expert, committed to consistently understanding the social space and its rapid developments and applying it to our audiences’ ever-changing interests and habits.
Working closely with the rest of the marketing team the Social Media Manager will increase brand awareness, change brand perception, generate inbound traffic, conversations and increase brand relevance for our audiences.
This role is full of opportunity that requires leadership, creativity, self-motivation, project management, analytical skills, relationships with platform owners, a good understanding of how to work with talent and influencers and attention-to-detail.
Role Specifics:
• Lead the development and guardianship of the social media channel, content and community management strategies.
• Drive fresh content strategy
• Oversee management of all social media platforms
• Develop and use all possible routes and innovations to reach and engage our audiences to make an impact –balance of editorial and strategy
• Create, source and write engaging content on larger projects
• Develop influencer relationships and initiatives
• Work across all Nickelodeon brands and products
• Management of multiple projects and stakeholders at any one time
• Use audience insight and analysis to develop social media activity that targets, engages and drives results, managing budgets and agencies
• Manage paid for always on approach with media agency
• Forecasting and reporting of budgets
• Manage and develop Social Media Marketing Assistant and Junior Content Producer
The ideal candidate will….
• Be great with people. An experienced people manager.
• They will be good at listening and communicating with the team as well as talent and influencers.
• They will be able to clearly define and communicate goals and set clear direction.
• Manage team priorities and balance critical projects with necessary always on comms.
• Be able to adapt and understand our multiple audiences. Parents, kids and tweens. They’ll understand what makes them tick. What makes them laugh.
• Be an ideas person. Always suggesting and pitching initiatives that are both editorially strong and commercially savvy.
• Strategic. Able to communicate vision for what the future of Nickelodeon social looks like.
• Able to turn good ideas into workable solutions.
• Works in social media already. Has experience working for or with a social media platform.
• Most importantly, the ideal candidate will be a challenger.
