Overview
What is the role
Viewer Insight sits at the heart of the ViacomCSB business and understanding the core audience informs everything we do. This role involves working across the FTA and Pay portfolios to deliver meaningful insight to help drive creative and commercial success.
We are looking for an experience Senior Research Executive to play a key role in supplying performance analysis of our linear and non linear platforms, along with that of our key competitors. You will be the voice of the viewer for our internal partners. Embrace the ‘One ViacomCBS’ approach and encourage collaboration and team working! • Support the Viewer Insight team in the analysis of its channel and programme brands across both linear (TV) and non-linear (Digital, VOD, Social) platforms
• Develop a detailed understanding of ViacomCBS’s competitive marketplace and communicate this knowledge across the business
• Support in writing, analysing and debriefing primary research projects
• Assisting in running any internal focus groups/regular surveys and researching wider behavioural/societal changes
• To develop close and knowledgeable relationships with other departments and respond to regular ad-hoc requests from Finance, Programming, Marketing, Digital and Strategy team
• To assist in running all research information sources and databases
• Participate in presentations and meetings, hosting and communicating where required
What skills do you need
• Experienced research analyst ideally from a TV background - although candidates from other areas (e.g. media owners, TV ad sales, digital, media agencies) may be considered
• Strong communication skills both in written and verbal communications
• Highly numerate with strong statistical experience
• Highly proficient at analysing large datasets – with the ability to look beyond the numbers and transform data into measurable insight
• Infectious appetite for media and consumer insight
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work with autonomy and take responsibility for you own workload
• Detailed working knowledge of TV data systems (e.g. BARB, TechEdge), digital tracking software (e.g. Omniture, Comscore, Google Analytics) and social listening tools (e.g. Crims and Hexagons, Facebook/Youtube Analytics)
• Excellent Excel skills with work experience using excel to distill complex data sets into audience insights
• Detailed knowledge of UK Television and wider media marketplace and a strong interest in TV/digital entertainment platforms
• Awareness of the UK affiliates market an advantage
• Experience of media ad sales or sponsorship functions
• Experience in survey research (design, implementation) & focus group experience
• Experience in using data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau)
