Full Time Job
The Global Products & Platforms team is responsible for the conception, development, and delivery of digital products in support of Viacom’s portfolio of domestic and international networks. Available in over 180 countries, Viacom’s iconic brands include BET, Channel 5, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, Telefe and many others.
The Content Platform is a division of the Global Product & Platforms team that defines the strategy and manages the content supply chain of products from registration to all points of distribution.
The Senior Director will play a critical role in ensuring a cohesive end-to-end content supply chain. You will oversee a team of product owners and work closely with other product directors to build and release systems responsible for storing and extracting content for external distribution and a new CMS responsible for supporting consumer experiences globally.
You will demonstrate management and leadership skills that are highly collaborative. You will manage the business goals of numerous stakeholders at all levels: Web & App Product Management, Operations, Brand Strategy, Production, new Viacom acquisitions, etc.
As this position is on a global team, it will be necessary to adjust working hours to accommodate meetings in other time zones.
RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role, you will:
• Partner with key stakeholders to understand current and future content management and operational workflow needs
• Develop and champion an end-to-end supply chain vision and clear product strategies
• Oversee a team of product owners and the alignment of their product roadmaps, managing and balancing stakeholder priorities against resource availability
• Manage Content Platform Business Analysts to ensure requirements gathering that will expedite the development process
• Ensure high quality deliverables that focus on streamlining to maximum resource and operational efficiency
• Navigate and negotiate through complex business and technology relationships
• Provide regular status reports and presentations to management and stakeholders about strategic direction and product deliverables
Basic Qualifications
• 10 years of experience in product management, software development, management consulting or related field
• 5 years management experience
• Experience working within a global media company is strongly desired
• Agile/iterative product development methodology
Additional Qualifications
• MBA or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering or related field
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as excellent relationship-management with customers, peers, and executives
• Strong quantitative and qualitative skills
