The Senior Director, Advanced Marketing Operations will be responsible for the operational support and yield maximization of Viacom’s Advanced Marketing Solutions (AMS) business, which includes addressable video inventory with dynamic ad insertion and client brand solutions. Additionally, this individual will seek out and create incremental opportunities for monetization of AMS inventory, by sourcing, negotiating, and executing Indirect demand partnerships, and partnering with sales to structure AMS direct advertiser & agency deals.
The Senior Director will work cross-functionally with key internal stakeholders (Sales, Legal, Product Management, Velocity, WhoSay, Digital Operations, Pricing & Inventory, Vantage, and Data Strategy) as well as external 3rd Party Demand Sources, Vendors & Platforms including but not limited to Ad Networks, DSPs, Programmatic Demand Sources, Data Management Platforms, Demo & Viewability Verification Platforms, 3rd Party Data, & OTT Platforms. The ideal candidate will be a highly strategic individual who possesses strong quantitative & analytical skills, strong negotiation skills, inherent curiosity in the digital media space, excellent client relationship skills and a desire to learn in a fast-paced industry.
Responsibilities:
• Source, vet, negotiate, and execute Indirect Video and Display Demand Partnerships, both 3rd Party and Programmatic, in effort to increase yield across Viacom’s digital footprint (Desktop, Mobile, & OTT Platforms)
• Work with key internal stakeholders for the 3rd Party Demand Partners Business Development process including but not limited to COO of Ad Sales as well as Digital Platforms Management, Legal, Product, & Digital Business Development teams
• Work with Viacom’s Product Management & Operations team to enable audience targeting capabilities across Viacom’s digital footprint
• Act as Subject Matter Expert to Sales team for Viacom’s audience targeted offerings across Viacom’s Digital Footprint
• Work with Viacom Vantage, Data Strategy, Digital Operations, Product Management, & Pricing & Inventory teams to forecast avails and onboard Viacom Vantage campaigns across Viacom’s Digital Footprint
• Act as primary Ad Sales liaison to Viacom Vantage and Data Strategy teams for all day to day operations as well as new Viacom initiatives
• Manage relationships with Demo Verification (Nielsen & ComScore), Viewability Verification (MOAT), and Invalid Traffic Platforms (White Ops)
• Manage Vendor Relationships with Viacom’s Data Management Platform (Adobe) as well as 3rd Party Data companies
• Keep Digital Platforms team and other departments educated on the evolving marketplace and trends
Basic Qualifications
• BA/BS in Business, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics or other analytically and quantitatively focused field
• 7 years of relevant experience at an In-Stream Video Publisher, DMP, Video Ad Serving Technology, or MVPD
• 3 years of Business Development experience vetting and negotiating 3rd party Demand or Supply Partnerships
Additional Qualifications
• Strong communication and client relationship skills; ability to publicly present ideas and share information
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers, employees, external clients and 3rd Party Vendors
• Demonstrate proficiency in mathematical calculations and spreadsheet-based analysis. Must have MS Excel proficiency
• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and to manage and prioritize the needs of multiple customers
• Knowledge of Adobe, FreeWheel, Nielsen, ComScore, MOAT, & White Ops; other 3rd Party Platforms and Vendors a plus
