Purpose of the role:
Would you like to join the Edinburgh TV award winning – ‘Channel of the year’ working as part of Promax acquiring, ‘Creative Team of the Year’ Do you like the idea of working on large scale campaigns for reality tv shows, BAFTA Award winning documentaries, original dramas, critically acclaimed history shows and a rich mix of entertainment and popular programming across our portfolio of channels.
If this sounds appealing then read on. We are looking for a Senior Graphic Designer to join 5Creative based in London. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your creativity and design.
Reporting to the Head of Design, this is a fantastic opening. Working as part of our multi award-winning team on upcoming promos, socials, TV sponsorships, brands and global, all media campaigns. You will have significant motion graphics, print and digital design experience. With a professional grounding in the broadcast environment.
This is a hands-on role where you can flex your creativity pushing innovation. Conceptualising ideas from the ground up, leading ideation sprints with teams, bringing briefs to life, adding value to existing concepts, assisting creatives and mentoring junior staff.
The 5Creative team is is also part of a newly formed cross brand creative, media and social hub, with the ambition of becoming the best consumer comms team in the media and broadcast industry dedicated to delivering innovative, creative and news-agenda driving communications strategies that leverage all platforms across our consumer brands including Channel 5, Comedy Central, MTV and Nickelodeon - so you may get a chance in future to work on these exciting brands alongside Channel 5!
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Creative problem solving for On – air Campaigns.
- Pitch and present your ideas.
- Brand ambassador – Maintaining and evolving the brand.
- Mentoring the Junior Designer and the Design Intern.
- Support Head of Design with in-house and freelance team.
- Work with Creatives team in the production of promotional materials.
- Lead or assist in ideation stages for promos and 360 campaigns.
- Lead on-air campaigns when necessary.
- Maintenance, development and application of brand OSP elements.
EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:
- Extensive experience working in a broadcast environment with TV brands.
- Must show passion and talent for storytelling, design, motion graphics, typography and layout.
- Knowledge, interest and thirst for the latest design trends.
- Knowledge of social media, digital and off - air advertising.
- Proven ability generating creative ideas over multiple platforms.
SKILLS REQUIRED
- Proficiency in Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator & Cinema4D.
- Experience and understanding of Video Editing.
- Excellent Communication and Articulation skills.
- High level of technical ability.
- Attention to detail in your own work and for junior team members.
- A collaborative approach to work – but also pro - active and independent when necessary.
- Strong Organisation skills with the ability to prioritise your workload
- Team player with the ability to build relationships
- Comfortable developing ideas in response to a brief.
- Confident in managing others and leading creative teams.
- Ability to multi-task.
- An understanding of print/digital formats and deliveries.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and schedules
- Degree or equivalent in animation or graphic design
- Experience leading branding
