Job Title: Picture and Content Manager, VIMN
Department: PR and Creative, The Hub
Reporting To: Senior Director, Communications (PR) and Head of Production and Operations (Creative)

The Team
The Viacom hub is part of a newly formed cross brand creative, media, PR and social hub, with the ambition of becoming the best team in the broadcast industry dedicated to delivering innovative, creative and results-driven campaigns that leverage all platforms across our consumer brands including Channel 5, Comedy Central, MTV and Nickelodeon.
Purpose of the role:
As Picture and Content Manager, you will have an important dual within the Hub, heading up a team of two working across pictures and content in the PR team across all brands and providing additional project support for image requirements for the creative team, supporting key marketing activity.
You will be responsible for coming up with new innovative and creative solutions to support Channel 5, MTV UK, Comedy Central and Nickelodeon content and image requirements. The core of the role is supporting the publicity and creative image function, overseeing and booking photographers for press shoots, liaising with production companies over unit image requirements and ensuring a high standard of photographic image output across all content.
Working collaboratively with the PR and creative teams, the successful candidate will be responsible for driving innovation, change and continuous improvement in the quality of photography and content ensuring consistency and high standards at every touch point.
Working closely with the PR and production management teams, you’ll build key relationships with independent producers and suppliers to ensure promotional materials is Best in Class and delivers campaigns that will allow audiences to engage more deeply with our content, key talent, characters and storylines.
Key Accountabilities:
• As a team of two, you will be the lead with responsibility for high quality and striking imagery supplied to media through proactive outreach, the picture website and programme information document
• Oversee a forward planning process with independent production companies to ensure timely, quality unit imagery is delivered within the production budget, reducing the need for separate shoots
• Develop relationships, as part of a two-person team, with picture desks across key priority media
• Coordinate campaign and picture productions for key priority campaigns, reporting directly in Senior Director, Communications and Head of Production and Operations, ensuring the Channel 5 brand style is consistent across all communications
• Coordinate, manage and forward plan the photography shoot process from initial brief to concept development through production and delivery of final, retouched imagery
• As a key member of the Hub, support on priority content requirements for Viacom brands when required
• Manage shoot production, photo editing, retouching and image approval including all location scouting, casting, commissioning (photographers, styling, hair, make-up, set and prop designers), client liaison and admin (call sheets, schedules, licencing and delivery)
• Campaign alignment across PR, creative and marketing departments, whilst managing strict time lines
• Manage photography costs on campaigns and perform all relevant administrative duties, ensuring the timely delivery of approved and complied photography
• Ensure appropriate standards of asset management are maintained in our content management systems and network
• Develop and manage a national network of suppliers, agencies and freelancers to support the picture production function
• Develop appropriate platforms to ensure that we are staying at the cutting edge of content management and distribution
• Work as part of a small picture team to ensure seamless and coordinated project and asset management, over-seeing PE responsibilities as and when required
• Support the Digital Media Team with relevant administrative tasks
• Management and development of a junior role within the team – developing their content capabilities
Experience & Knowledge:
You will have produced small to large scale photo (and video) shoots and have experience and knowledge of all current multi-media platforms (Facebook; Twitter; Snapchat; Instagram etc.) and a keen interest in all future multimedia platforms. You will have strong editorial judgement and creative development skills, and ideally vast experience with the adobe suite. You will pride yourself on delivering on time, to budget and to key performance indicators. You are a self-starter who lives for being part of making brands a great success.
• Previous experience in photography production/ creative environments
• Active interest in photography and entertainment
• A working knowledge of Photoshop, Bridge and Lightroom, skilled in all aspects of digital photography, photo manipulation and digital transfer
• An understanding of and experience with copyright laws
• Ability to manage critical relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to plan, prep and produce photography shoots
• Ability to work creatively and flexibly within fixed budgets
