Overview and Responsibilities
Join our Viacom Ad Solutions team! We are a leading innovative advertising organization that delivers the advertising revenue across all Viacom media brands using ground breaking research, data, partner marketing, and sales strategy approaches. We work creatively across all media platforms – TV, digital, social, experiential/ live events, emerging platforms; and all audiences – from young kids with the Nickelodeon brands, to Millennials with brands like MTV and Comedy Central; as well fans of TV Land!
The Manager, Digital Platforms Partnerships will be responsible growing and maintaining Viacom’s non-traditional ad sales business across Local, Indirect, and Political demand Marketplaces within Viacom’s digital footprint (Desktop, Mobile, OTT, & STB VOD). This role will be a combination of sourcing, vetting, and negotiating new demand partners as well as stewarding and growing current relationships. The Manager will work with key internal partners including Sales, Product Management, Digital Operations, Pricing & Inventory, Vantage, and Data Strategy. The role will also work across all existing non-traditional demand partners including MVPDs and other 3rd Party Indirect demand sources. The candidate should be comfortable acting in a sales facing role. In this role, you will who will keep a pulse on the non-traditional ad sales marketplace through strong quantitative & analytical skills and networking internally and externally.
Primary Responsibilities
• Source, build, vet, & negotiate new deals across Local, Indirect, & Political Marketplace demand partners
• Work closely on partner integration & ad server implementation
• Collaborate with Pluto TV Business Development team on potential deal alignments for maximization of revenue
• Act as primary Account Manager to demand partner, which includes:
• Own weekly calls with all demand partners
• Act as advocate for demand partner within Viacom
• Deep understanding all key deal terms and ensure all internal partners are aware
• Work on overall deal health tracking, standard methodologies to optimize revenue from Demand Partner, & execution of billing & accruals for financial close
• Execute demand partner renewals
• Keep Digital Platforms team and other departments educated on the evolving marketplace and trends
Secondary Responsibilities
• Source, vet, & negotiate new deals with prospective Viacom supply partners
• Negotiate terms and execute IOs with current supply partners
• Work on partner integration & ad server implementation
• Work closely with internal Pricing & Inventory team on inventory needs across supply partners
• Act as primary Account Manager to supply partners, which includes:
• Ensure campaign performance (Viewability, IVT, etc.) success metrics are met
• Ensure supply partner is providing needed scale for campaign delivery
• Work with Digital Platforms Analyst on billing & financial close
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Business, Media, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics or other analytically and quantitatively focused field (preferred)
• 3 years of experience as a publisher, buyer, or technology vendor such as OTT Device Manufacturer or 3rd Party Ad Network. Video experience preferred.
Additional Qualifications
• Ability to handle multiple deals concurrently complex problems and simplify them for broader groups
• Strong communication and client relationship skills; ability to publicly present ideas, negotiate deal terms, and share information
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers, employees, external clients and 3rd Party partnerships
• Demonstrate proficiency in mathematical calculations, spreadsheet-based analysis, and deck creations
• MS Excel & PowerPoint proficiency
• Knowledge of demand sources (Local Marketplace, 3rd Party Ad Networks, OTT Device Manufacturers, MVPDs), Technology Vendors (FreeWheel, SpotX, Nielsen, ComScore, MOAT, White Ops), & Data Automation Platforms (STAQ, Ad-Juster, Datorama) a plus
