CMT has a rare opening for a Line Producer/Short Form Production. The role reports into the SVP/Head of Production, Short Form for Viacom Media Networks, and is an integral part of the short form production management team. The Line Producer/Short Form is a physical production expert with the ability to produce and manage complex in-house and/or third party productions. Candidates for this role must be able to work autonomously, must be motivated, quick-thinking, and thorough. This is a demanding and fast-paced environment requiring a proactive mentality, good judgment, tremendous flexibility and must be able to adjust and anticipate change and challenges. This role will primarily support projects related to CMT’s Promos, integrated marketing, social, and digital content creators, and is located in CMT’s headquarters in Nashville, TN. Only seasoned Production Management professionals will be considered.
Principal Responsibilities:
• Partner, support and collaborate with Brand Creative group and support them with any production needs.
• Oversee the overall budget for Brand Creative, both On-Air & Off. Approve and manage all non-project related expenses. Meet with stakeholders and any department heads to update and advise on budget status and needs. Track and report spending for all projects.
• Quickly gain proficiency of Viacom’s financial processes, including corporate and production spending, corporate card and P-card policies and petty cash procedures.
• Expert in production management with ability to Line Produce to commercial specification small to large in-house productions as well as oversee 3rd party productions
• Create, implement and drive highly effective production plans for physical production, motion and still, while collaborating and working with creative producers, project managers, directors and executives.
• Provides input, feedback in all phases of production to ensure the creative vision can be delivered and produced successfully, while meeting operational, financial targets and desired production value.
• Hires, negotiates and clearly defines rates and working conditions to freelance personnel
• Sources and/or vets 3rd party production companies and still photographers
• Works effectively with cross functional partners to ensure all aspects of production have been properly addressed (Business & Legal Affairs, Risk Management, Finance, Safety, Labor Relations, Human Resources, Music & Media Licensing, Music and Talent, etc.)
• Responsible for day-to-day supervision of production staff, internal and freelance.
• Ensures that agreements, contracts, deal memos and releases are created, correct and fully executed.
• Requires work outside of traditional work schedules as business dictates.
Basic Qualifications
Education:
• BA/BS Degree highly preferred or equivalent job experience
Job Experience:
• Minimum 6 – 8 years of television and/or film Production management experience with extensive knowledge of budgeting, safety, location scouting and selection, technical facilities and current technologies, permitting, production guilds, scheduling and staffing
Job Skills:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Must have cross industry knowledge that allows for informed interaction with other production groups, as well as outside production companies.
• Act with diplomacy and tact and be able to handle changing priorities with a professional demeanor
• Able to assess situations and make decisions on the fly in order to keep production on deadline and to budget
• Communicate effectively and professionally with personnel at all levels, from production assistants and crew members, to vendors, producers and executives.
• Proven negotiation skills and comfortable and confident with this responsibility
• Excellent organizational skills are critical.
• Proficiency with Microsoft office software including Excel, Word and Outlook required, and must be able to become quickly proficient with OneDrive, Google Applications, Showbiz Budgeting, ShowMgr, Concur and SAP.
• • Must be able and willing to respond after normal business hours to urgent and timely issues
• Must exhibit leadership characteristics and abilities.
