Full Time Paid Internship
The Animation Casting Intern works on the Nickelodeon Animation Talent & Casting Team to support their VP, Director, Manager, and Assistant. The team oversees all Nickelodeon animated projects from original scripted series, pilots and movies, to digital and promo/short-form content. The intern is expected to assist with preparation for record sessions and auditions, which includes creating binders, highlighting scripts, line counts, making copies and filing paperwork. Interns may also be asked to assist with sitting in on record sessions and taking circle takes (notes).
The Animation Casting Intern will have opportunities to conduct their own talent scouting and bring new ideas to the table through several outlets. They will partner with the other interns from the entire Talent Department to find emerging talent to share with the team bi-weekly. In addition to this, they will get the chance to research fun and exciting facts about our current Nickelodeon talent to share through social media.
The Live-Action Casting Intern works on the Nickelodeon Live-Action Team to support their VP, Sr Director, Manager, and Coordinator. The team oversees all Nickelodeon projects with real people (no animation) from original scripted series, pilots and movies, to unscripted, to digital and promo/short-form. The intern is expected to assist with preparation for auditions, which includes creating session sheets, printing headshots and resumes, prepping the audition room, and setting up or running camera & lighting equipment. Interns will also learn how to utilize Breakdown Express to upload auditions, search for talent, and create links. They will become familiar with IMDBPro and StudioSystem, both of which the team frequently uses to research actors and industry professionals. Familiarity with these programs, as well as iMovie, is a plus but not required.
The team empowers their interns to be creative and bring new ideas to the table by searching digital and traditional platforms for new and emerging talent. Interns will partner with their East Coast counterpart to create a weekly or bi-weekly newsletter with relevant industry news, updates on young actors, and their own scouting discoveries. This is a great opportunity for them to show the team their eye for talent and bring fresh ideas to the table. Interns may also be asked to assist with live events such as open casting calls and Nickelodeon awards shows.
