HR Employee Relations Specialist (6 month FTC)

WHAT IS THE ROLE
To work in partnership with the HR generalist team (HRBPs and HRAs) to pro-actively manage the ER priorities. To provide pragmatic, commercially balanced and specialist ER advice, balancing the management of risk/legal requirements and business need.
General Administration:
• Lead, own and advise on ER (Absence mgt / Performance mgt / Disciplinaries, grievances etc). cases as they arise
• Work with external parties such as legal advisors and Occupational Health providers to drive supportive and effective resolutions
• Develop effective strategies to promote and maintain a progressive and healthy employee relations climate for the business
• To provide specialist Employee Relations advice and support to the UK HR Business Partnering team (HRBPs and HRA’s) on all aspect of employee relations issues in a confidential and professional manner in line with current UK Employment Legislation
• Work with UK HR Business Partnering team to develop strategies to build line management and leadership capability on all aspects of employee relations and deliver these
• To keep abreast of and update the team on legislative developments affecting Employment Law that will impact on HR
• Design, develop and implement effective HR procedures & toolkits to ensure consistent frameworks are used within the HR team
• Provide a legal input to HR related special projects and research as required
• Partner with the HR Data Specialist to track and monitor trends in ER issues/identifying appropriate solutions
• To interpret employment legislation and translate it into best practice and compliant company policy and procedure
• To work collaboratively with the HR Business Partners on any change programmes, ensuring all ‘hands to the deck’ in terms of support Skills
WHAT SKILLS DO YOU NEED
• Strong employee relations experience.
• Delivers proactive and confident action based on a creative, pragmatic and commercial style.
• Proven experience in coaching managers
• Possess an actively cooperative and supportive approach to colleagues.
• Demonstrated ability to liaise, build strong relationships, support and influence at different all levels of the business.
• Possess the ability to deal with sensitive issues tactfully.
• Delivers proactive and confident action based on a creative, pragmatic and commercial style.
• Relevant generalist HR experience.
• Motivated, credible and resilient with commercial awareness.
• Well organised with good administrative skills.
• Knows instinctively when to ask for the opinion of colleagues when a choice between options is required.
• Strong influencing skills; Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Effective Analytical, decision making and people management skills.
