WHO YOU ARE
Working closely with Director of Programming, Ben Frow, this role involves setting the programming strategy to ensure continued growth for Channel 5, across linear and VOD. As Head of Scheduling you will be across all commissions and acquisitions for Channel 5. You will schedule the content to maximise its impact up to 12 months ahead, managing stock and runs to ensure that we can always be as effective as possible.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
• Long and short term scheduling of Channel 5
• Working closely with the DoP on a daily basis to make the schedule as robust and competitive as possible
• Identifying scheduling opportunities and quick wins on a weekly basis
• Managing the weekly press scheduling meeting
• Working with DoP to ensure the channel has the optimum mix of content across the schedule
• Be involved in strategic commissioning decisions across linear and VOD
• Working hand in hand with Airtime Management to maximise financial opportunities in the schedule while being as competitive as possible
• Identifying and implementing events to maximise revenue opportunities
• Managing the C5 Programme budget
YOU WILL HAVE
• Experience of terrestrial scheduling while working to OFCOM rules
• A clear understanding of how terrestrial broadcasters make revenue and the role that scheduling plays
• A good understanding of SOCI and airtime rules and restrictions for a PSB
• An understanding of amortisation/runs/managing etc. stock to minimise wastage
• Understanding of production/delivery/budgets
• Strong communication skills in dealing with stakeholders at all levels
