WHO ARE YOU
The Head of Reporting will report to the UK Cluster Controller and is responsible for the consolidation and reporting of Viacom International Media Networks – UK Cluster financial information. The role will have interaction with both internal and external users, with the observance of applicable law, statutes, regulations and interpretations and internal policies and procedures. Additionally the Head of Reporting will be responsible for coordination and management of all the statutory financial statements and audits.
WHAT IS THE ROLE
Internal Reporting
• Full ownership of reporting for the cluster including balance sheet, P&L and supplemental reporting schedules ensuring deliverables are submitted on time
• Review of monthly submissions from the Controllers and communicating issues to the Cluster Controller
• Review monthly P&L analysis and BS flux reports versus forecasts and/or prior periods as well as other reporting schedules
• Consolidate and report AR ageing and have oversight of provisions recorded
• Preparation of the quarterly clearance memo to the VIMN Controller and present on clearance calls
Team
• Manage and coach the Reporting Manager and reviewing all his/her work
• Provide induction training for new joiners in the cluster
• Provide a collaborative and positive work environment for the team – lead by example
• Provide on-going coaching and training to controllers and direct reports to assist with reporting deliverables and sharing of knowledge
External Reporting
Responsible for coordination and management of the Audits and all UK statutory financial statements and tax returns
Performing the first review of statutory accounts in the UK prior to the Cluster Controller review
Provide support to the tax advisors in the completion of UK tax returns
Collaborate in the process of assisting external outsourcers, such as tax & audit, PwC, Deloitte and E&Y.
Other
Responsible for the monitoring and reporting of balance sheet reconciliations for the Cluster
Review of select account reconciliations within the Trintech reporting tool to ensure consistency and validity
Collaborate with the Cluster and the shared service centre, Global Business Services (GBS), as necessary, to support day to day reporting and ad hoc requests
Oversee areas of significant judgemental accounting, including preparing/reviewing technical accounting memos
Review and support accounting treatment for acquisitions and transactions in the cluster and oversee compliance with Viacom accounting consultation requirements
Work to ensure integrity and accuracy of financial statements in general ledger and compliance with company accounting policies and procedures, statutes, regulations, and US GAAPs/ Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX)
Provide sound information for decision support for all financial and accounting matters
Provide support/lead ad hoc projects as requested
Provide support to regional offices and Cluster Controller as needed
WHAT SKILLS DO YOU NEED
• Fully qualified (ACA or ACCA preferred)
• US GAAP would be advantageous
• Demonstrable understanding of technical accounting and tax competencies
• SAP experience would be an advantage
• Attention to detail
