Job Title: Dubbing Mixer and Sound Designer
Department: 5Creative
Reporting To: Head of Production & Operations
Location: Hawley Crescent, Camden
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
5Creative is an in-house creative department responsible for creating marketing campaigns for Channel 5, 5Star, 5USA, 5Spike, My5 and Paramount Channels.
Reporting into the Head of Production & Operations, you will work closely with clients, producers, versioning editors and voiceover artists to achieve the highest quality voiceover records and audio mixing for Channel 5 short-form output.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a newly formed cross brand creative, design, production and media hub, with the ambition of becoming the best in class across the broadcast industry dedicated to delivering innovative and award winning creative that span all platforms across our Viacom consumer brands including Channel 5, Comedy Central, MTV and Nickelodeon.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Completing track-lays, sound preps and final mixes
• Recording voiceovers; building and maintaining friendly working relationships with voiceover artists
• Ensuring high quality output at all times to different tech specs
• Capacity to give considered creative input, where required
• Responsibility for backup and archiving of audio work, in line with company practices
• Maintenance of access to music and SFX libraries in line with company practices
• Advice and assistance to producers and management on all audio-related technical issues or questions
• Staying abreast of all audio issues within the company and the industry, and advising as to best practice/ideas
• Responsibility for audio related technical admin in liaison with producers and management, production and Viacom Tech Support
• Key point of contact for Viacom’s Technical Support and liaison for all audio matters
EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:
• Exceptional Pro Tools knowledge and experience within a broadcast audio environment
• An excellent working knowledge of post-production processes and services
• Experience in short form promotional work and a fast turn around environment
• Experience in broadcast sound mixing
• Up to date knowledge of technical specifications for all media platforms
• Exceptional sound design skills and solution focused creative outlook
• Strong ability to direct and advise voice over artists (in collaboration with the creatives where necessary)
• A passion for TV & advertising
• A proven track record of delivering award winning work across all media for an agency or in-house creative team
• Have a creative eye and the confidence to give opinions
• Can be flexible and adapt quickly to the demands of challenging projects
• A keen awareness of current creative trends in film, television and advertising

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills under sometimes demanding timescales and clients
• Positive attitude towards problem solving and tight deadlines
• Good timekeeping, organisation and technical quality
