Full Time Job
The Director, Strategy for Viacom Digital Studio (VDS) will work in partnership with the VP, Strategy and Operations to develop long-term business and revenue strategies for VDS. The Director will play a major role in shaping the vision and success of VDS. The ideal candidate will have passion for digital first and next generation platforms and businesses.
• Evaluate complex, ambiguous business problems with data, analysis, and market research and form thoughtful and comprehensive business cases and theses
• Develop presentation materials, models and ad hoc analyses to provide regular updates to Viacom senior management covering operations, new business opportunities, strategies, budgets, and long-range plans (LRP)
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to plan and execute LRP and strategies to build VDS into a growing and profitable business
• Participate in and support all aspects of M&A deals, including identifying targets, research, due diligence, financial modeling, and integration
• Work with research and content teams to actively monitor and manage VDS metrics and KPIs to ensure the team is exceeding goals internally and externally
• Identify potential partnerships in content, marketing and production, and assist in the execution and follow up to ensure success
• Understand and translate internal and industry data and turn them into actionable recommendations in areas of audience development and improving ROI and budget effectiveness
Basic Qualifications
• Minimum 5 years’ experience working in investment banking, management consulting or entertainment/media and digital/video space
• BA/BS degree required
• MBA a plus
• Strong research, analytical and problem solving skills, including expertise in financial analysis
• Proven ability to dissect and interpret data
• Ability to interface with multiple levels of management, ranging from senior corporate executives to business unit managers and third parties
• Able to execute projects independently and efficiently
• High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Organized, detail-oriented and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
• Team player with strong interpersonal capabilities
