WHAT IS THE ROLE
This technical role aims to lead on the data collection, integration, validation and visualization from our analytics tools and third-party platform partners across the digital portfolio. You will be the go-to person for collecting and preparing reliable data used to report on our performance and our viewers behavior across platforms.
The role calls for someone with a strong background in data and digital analytics, a passion for innovation and technology, excellent communication skills, and a genuine understanding of the trends within the digital media industry.
The role will require integrating/analysing online and offline data, as well improving our data workflows in order to reduce the time spent on data collection/preparation:
• Preparing web traffic and VoD data for internal and external reports
• Working alongside with the Insights Manager on collecting and preparing data for weekly and monthly analysis or ad-hoc data requests from internal/external clients eg. Viacom teams, Producers etc
• Validating historical and current data from affiliates and prepare for storage/backup; liaising with partners to clarify and correct data
• Working alongside with the Analytics team to improve their data collection processes, and different data sources integration (Adobe Analytics, Social media platforms, Techedge and others)
• Establishing and owning data ingestion data processes (Eg. via API) from new platforms and partners
• Maintaining and monitoring existing data feeds both internal and external to the Digital business
• Responsibility for data integrity, minimising data gaps and maximising standardization
• Supporting the wider business with projects that require data QA, running A/B testing, automated dashboards and other projects allocated to the analytics team
• Preparing reports either in PowerPoint or in Excel and building dashboards in Tableau when required
WHAT SKILLS DO YOU NEED
The ideal candidate will have strong numerical and presentation skills as well as solid professional experience in data manipulation and research/analytics for digital products and services, or a media/advertising company.
The core skills required:
• Strong computer literacy skills: Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Experience with processing data and producing reports using Excel, including complex formulas and pivot tables is essential
• Exposure to web analytic tools: Adobe Analytics preferred
• Exposure to tag management (any tools), and web debugging tools to QA web analytics implementation (like Charles, Wireshark, HttpFox, Web Inspector)
• Ability to use APIs to connect to data sources and collect data (like connect to the Omniture API to gather data)
• Experience with creating Tableau dashboards
• Knowledge of Python, R or SQL to collect and manipulate data / process algorithms
• Experience with retrieving data from different data points via APIs for data manipulation
• Strong analytical and numerical skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Commitment to quality and attention to detail
• Proactivity and a positive approach to the daily work and new / upcoming projects
• Ability to summarise and present data in a clear, easy to understand reporting format to senior management
• Ability to work to daily, weekly and monthly deadlines and multi-task
• Self-sufficient, tech-savvy and a quick learner
Additional skills that would be advantageous:
• Demonstrable experience self-serve social analytics tools, and regular use of Twitter, Facebook and YouTube analytics (data collection from these platforms via API will be a bonus)
• Experience of working at a media agency, broadcaster or video on demand platform
• Exposure to Alteryx, Google Big Query or similar tools
• Experience with a Business Intelligence or Business Analyst role
• Exposure to AWS, Snowflake or any other similar
• Exposure to A/B testing (processes, tools like Optimizely)
• Some experience with JavaScript
