Intern - Social Media Marketing

This is a Full Time Unpaid Internship

Description: VEVO, a new music video start-up created by Universal Music Group and Sony Music Entertainment in partnership with Google Inc., is currently hiring interns for the Summer 2010 semester. This is a rare opportunity to be a part of one of the most exciting new companies in the entertainment industry. VEVO is a brand new and fast growing company, and as such our interns will have the unique opportunity to define VEVO’s voice on major social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, VEVO’s blog). Our interns will gain valuable insight into the music & technology industries and the ins and outs of marketing VEVO to our consumers. Responsibilities will include:

-Communicate VEVO’s news and other messaging to music fans via major social media platforms Facebook and Twitter as well as VEVO’s blog

-Help shape VEVO’s “voice”

-Interact with VEVO’s fans through targeted and direct social media messaging

-Brainstorm ideas for new editorial content

-Research new content ideas/storylines i.e. top 5 music videos featuring bands fronted by women

-Help create email blasts to VEVO’s consumers

-Inform current trends in social media to VEVO’s marketing team

Requirements: First and foremost, VEVO interns must be enthusiastic, dedicated and passionate about music and technology. Strong writing skills and an intimate knowledge of Facebook and Twitter an absolute must. Organization, punctuality, reliability, self-motivation, creativity and attention to detail are all essential qualities which we require in our interns. We are only able to consider applications from those currently enrolled in an academic program and eligible to receive credit. No exceptions, sorry.
