The Opportunity
As a Transmission Coordinator, you'll support Versant's Transmission and Acquisition operations, helping ensure high-quality, reliable signal delivery for live and recorded content across news, entertainment, and sports. You'll manage signal flows and communications supporting assignment desks, bureaus, remote locations, control rooms, partners, and affiliates in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

In this role, your technical judgment, attention to detail, and ability to respond quickly to changing conditions will directly support the continuity and quality of Versant's live operations.
This position is currently scheduled for an overnight shift within a 24/7/365 operation. Team members must have flexibility to work varying shifts, including days, evenings, overnights, weekends, holidays, and overtime based on business and operational needs.
This position is required to be performed full-time on-site from our Englewood Cliffs, NJ worksite.
Qualifications
What You'll Do
• Route, monitor, and perform quality control for incoming and outgoing feeds and streams supporting news, entertainment, and sports programming.
• Coordinate closely with live control rooms, field crews, remote studios, assignment desks, bureaus, partners, and affiliates to maintain reliable signal delivery.
• Operate and support transmission technologies including LiveU bonded cellular, satellite, terrestrial vendor services, and IP-based solutions, taking action to optimize signal quality.
• Troubleshoot audio, video, data, equipment, and transmission issues, partnering with Versant O&T Engineering and Incident Management teams to resolve outages and restore service quickly.
• Book and schedule remote facilities and transmission resources while meeting tight deadlines in rapidly evolving situations.
• Maintain a high level of operational awareness, accuracy, and communication throughout live and breaking-news coverage.
What You Bring
• 1–3 years of experience in live-to-air television operations, ideally within a TOC/NOC environment with responsibility for audio, video, and data quality and continuity.
• Hands-on experience operating and configuring transmission technologies such as LiveU systems, satellite receivers and antennas, IP/ASI encoders and decoders, and video plant router control panels.
• Strong troubleshooting and critical-thinking skills, with close attention to detail when diagnosing signal or equipment issues.
• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team while meeting strict deadlines in a high-pressure live environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and an interest in continually learning new technologies.

Bonus points: Experience independently managing transmission workflows and a demonstrated enthusiasm for learning and applying new broadcast and IP-based technologies.
