Variety is hiring a Sales Associate to support our talented global TV/Film/Music/ Talent sales team, based in our Los Angeles office, working a hybrid work schedule. Ideal candidates will have relevant internship, school, and job experience, as well as excellent organizational skills, a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and an eagerness to learn. This position is perfect for you if you are passionate about the business of entertainment and have an interest in sales and marketing.
This is a full time, entry-level position. Prefer 1 year of office experience
Candidates should be detail-oriented and independent workers who want to learn the ins and outs of advertising sales for the number one entertainment industry media brand.
Responsibilities:
- Develop/produce sales and marketing materials i.e.: letters of agreement, insertion orders, etc.
- Input print and event sponsorship insertion orders into the Salesforce system; maintain all client information in client database for billing purposes
- Communicate with clients, agencies, and internal production department as main point of contact, for pre & post-sale execution of deliverables, creative etc.
- Ensure all proper approvals for creative, signage and event collateral are obtained
- Execute and track pre/post event promotion and added value media in collaboration with internal Marketing/Events team
- Responsible for general office support; distribute weekly publication to advertisers and events; maintain magazine closet storage and office copies update specific sales representative forecasting & financial reporting, create/manage Awards balloting and calendar schedule for upcoming awards slate
- Work with Accounting department to follow up on unpaid invoices, prebilling, credit card payments
- Manage premium print inventory in Salesforce
- Produce Screenshot decks for all event sponsorships
- On-site event staff support where needed
- Provide excellent customer service and resolve issues promptly
- Process sales orders accurately and efficiently ensuring booking in entered in timely manner
Requirements:
- Exceptionally organized and detail oriented
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adhere to tight deadlines
- Must be able to take initiative in certain tasks
- Salesforce experience not mandatory but is a plus
- Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong interest in advertising sales, marketing and/or publishing and entertainment
