Variety Business Intelligence: Sales Manager - - Will Train
Would you like to move into a sales role but don't have sales experience? Variety Business Intelligence is looking to fill a Sales Manager position and requires no formal sales experience. The ideal applicant will have prior work experience at a talent & literary agency, network, studio or production company with exposure to development and/or production. Variety Business Intelligence, the research & data division of Variety, is seeking a full time Sales Manager to help grow new and existing business. A strong interest and understanding of the entertainment business is a requirement. The ideal candidate will come from a studio, network, production company or talent & literary agency background - ideally having worked as a manager, coordinator or senior level assistant in development, production or sales. The position requires an individual who is adept at creating leads, setting meetings and executing in office and web-based presentations. Additionally, the Sales Manager will be required to interface with existing clients for the purpose of maintaining and growing existing business.
Job Description:
The Sales Manager at Variety Business Intelligence will be selling licenses to new and existing customers to access industry research and data tools. In addition, this position will sell advertising in Variety Business Intelligence's various newsletters to marketers across the entertainment industry. The Sales Manager is responsible for setting his or her own meetings, presenting and closing deals. All sales people are trained on Salesforce, the division's CRM system. The Sales Manager is expected to attend various industry trade shows and events where the company exhibits its research & data services.
Job Requirements:
Relationships at the various networks, studios, production companies and agencies with a focus on development and production.
The ideal candidate must be able to manage his or her own tasks and deadlines and have excellent organizational skills.
He or she must be comfortable working with customers within all areas of the entertainment industry in person or via phone/email.
An excellent phone rapport and manner are required.
The candidate must have a high technical aptitude and working knowledge of Internet and software applications, including Microsoft Office products, in particular Excel and Outlook.
The position requires excellent written and verbal skills and a very high attention to detail.
A long term interest in marketing and sales is encouraged but not required.
