Position: Senior Vice President, Communications, MRC
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Who we are:
MRC is a diversified global entertainment company with divisions including Film, Television, Live & Alternative and Non-Fiction as well as joint ventures in data and publishing. This position reports to the Executive Vice President of Communications and will be based in Beverly Hills.
What You'll Do:
The Senior Vice President of Communications is responsible for leading and executing external communications across MRC's dynamic portfolio of television, live & alternative, film and non-fiction and its partnerships and investments. The ideal candidate will be an experienced leader with a track record of success, solid relationships with entertainment and trade press, and will have strong experience as a team leader. The successful candidate will deliver best practice campaigns, clear and effective communications internally and externally, and truly thrive in a fast paced and entrepreneurial environment.
Your responsibilities
• Lead, develop and motivate the cross-divisional MRC external communications team
• Accountable for creation and execution of publicity, awards campaigns, and production communications, across all divisions with distribution partners, labels and affiliated studios
• Work closely with divisional Presidents and internal stakeholders (e.g. programming, production, business affairs, finance, HR) to ensure streamlined communications across campaigns, initiatives and within teams
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with artists, representatives, producers, and studio/network communications teams to ensure consistent communications and productive campaigns
• Generate and oversee press materials including announcement releases, bios, talking points, pitches
• Oversee team's execution of live event series with network partners, ensuring creative campaigns and consistent execution from announcements through red carpet, live event and post-show
• Work closely with EVP of Communications across corporate communications needs for divisions, labels, affiliates and partnerships and investments
• Contribute to overall team and divisional planning, corporate and internal communications functions and other initiatives
Your Experience and Qualifications
• 12 years overall work experience in communications with d emonstrated knowledge of film, television, non-scripted and televised live events publicity
• Prior experience working at a studio, network or agency directly responsible for studio/network clients in a publicity capacity
• Corporate and Crisis communications experience preferred
• Highly collaborative with a leadership style that is inspiring and effective
• Ability to manage and lead team cross-divisionally, dive into tactical execution, multitask and manage complex projects
• Strong existing relationships with communications teams at networks and studios as well as journalists, artists, representatives and producers
• Entrepreneurial, ambitious or drive for success
• Excellent oral and written communications skills
• Inclusive leader with demonstrated experience leading a diverse team
Required Education
Bachelor's Degree
