The Director of Digital Education reports to the Senior Director, Youth Programs & Education and is responsible for developing and delivering USA Baseball's national coach education programs. This role ensures that all educational resources, including drills, practice plans, curricula, certifications, and baseball manuals for youth and high school are designed and delivered in a way that is accessible, engaging, and easily consumable by the target audience. The Director also supports broader education initiatives for umpires, players, and parents and oversees the delivery of educational resources through the USA Baseball app and other digital platforms.
By ensuring that coaches, umpires, and other stakeholders can effectively use and apply these resources, this position strengthens USA Baseball's educational offerings and supports the organization's overall mission. The Director collaborates with internal teams to develop content and programs that meet the needs of a wide range of amateur baseball participants.
IN THIS ROLE
• Lead the execution of USA Baseball's Education Strategic Plan, overseeing the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of educational content across digital and in-person platforms.
• Lead the design and evolution of certification pathways and curriculum for coaches, umpires, and other stakeholders, ensuring alignment with the USA Baseball American Development Model.
• Oversee the production, updating, and enhancement of educational resources, including drills, practice plans, courses, manuals, and multimedia content. Collaborating with subject matter experts and internal teams.
• Ensure all educational resources are delivered effectively and tailored to the needs of the amateur baseball community, providing meaningful learning experiences for coaches, players, parents, umpires, and administrators at all levels.
• Manage the user experience and support of USA Baseball educational offerings, ensuring clear communication, accessibility, and a positive user journey.
• Partner with marketing and communications teams to raise awareness of educational resources and drive engagement among administrators, coaches, umpires, parents, and athletes.
• Build and maintain relationships with youth baseball leaders and stakeholders to promote adoption, advocacy, and impact of USA Baseball's educational programs nationwide.
• Leverage technology and data insights to inform digital learning strategy, improve accessibility and user experience, and measure the effectiveness of education initiatives across platforms.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 6 years of progressively responsible experience in education, learning design, online learning platforms, or educational technology.
• Proven experience in developing and delivering educational content, including instructional videos, coaching manuals, online courses, or other learning resources.
• Demonstrated experience leading digital learning initiatives, such as e-learning modules, certification programs, or LMS platforms, including strategy, design, delivery, and evaluation.
• Background in teaching or formal education if preferred, but not required.
• Baseball knowledge and understanding of the game is preferred but not required.
• Working knowledge and understanding of coaching practices and the needs of coaches at various levels of competition.
• Highly organized with exceptional project management skills and the ability to manage multiple programs and initiatives simultaneously.
• Comfortable working across digital platforms and staying current on emerging trends in digital education.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
REMOTE WORK POLICY
USA Baseball believes in fostering a flexible work environment that promotes work-life balance and enhances employee productivity.
USA Baseball employs a Remote Work Season from approximately the first Monday of October through the last Friday of February of the following year. During this time, employees are expected to be in the offices three days of the week, with the option to work remotely on Wednesdays and on Fridays. Employees are expected to be in office Monday through Friday during the USA Baseball Season, which runs from approximately March 1 through the end of September.
