Temporary Prop/Set Decorator for Halloween Horror Nights
Employment Dates: early July to late Sept. 2012
SUMMARY: You will be responsible for the creation, modification and installation of all props and decorations for 2012 Halloween Horror Nights mazes and scare zones as directed by prop master and art director.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Create, modify and install props and set decorations for HHN mazes.
• Create and modify props and set dressing for scare zones
• Use skills in prop construction, sewing, painting and set decoration.
• Work with realistic fake parts to recreate gore for film based mazes.
• Assist in the documentation, packing and unloading of props and dressing.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
• 2 years or more of experience in set decoration or art department work.
• Proficiency in theatrical construction techniques.
• Must be able to use hand power tools
• Must be able to work on a ladder
• Must be able to work alone, unsupervised and in groups
• Some work is outdoors.
• 75% time spent on feet.
• 40-50 lbs. Lifting
• Occasional 100lbs. Push/pull (on casters)
DESIRED CHARATERISTICS
• Entertainment production or Film/TV art department experience.
Pay rate: $20.00 an hour.
