UTA is seeking an assistant to a Partner in the Publishing department in our New York office. We are looking for a highly organized and motivated individual who has exceptional communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with industry-leading talent and contribute to the success of representing groundbreaking authors.
What You’ll Do
- Provide administrative support including managing heavy phones, calendar, scheduling meetings, and coordinating travel arrangements.
- Manage expenses and maintain accurate records using company systems and software.
- Filing and managing all client/project files to make sure all folders are up to date.
- Manage extensive rights grids.
What You Need
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Prior experience in publishing with foreign rights and/or literary estates a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to review and understand contracts strongly preferred, otherwise a willingness to learn.
- Ability to liaise with key senior-level executives, external clients & partners.
- Capable of managing several projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal with critical attention to detail.
- Can-do, positive attitude and willing to go the extra mile.
- General business knowledge and interest in the publishing business.
- Strong proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, Outlook, Word, & Internet research.
