United Talent Agency, UTA is seeking an experienced Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A). This role will be a critical member of the Finance team with exposure to the CFO and the most senior leadership of UTA. Reporting to the Director, FP&A, the Manager will be responsible for supporting the preparation of the annual budget and performing critical analysis of revenues & expenses to provide insights into business performance and trends that support strategic decision making. The Manager will play a critical role in the execution of monthly reporting, as well as periodic updating of financial forecasts, which will require working closely with department heads across the agency. Impromptu ad hoc analysis will also be supported by this role.

This role is well suited to a candidate with a passion for the entertainment industry and an interest in understanding the ever-changing dynamics of the media landscape. The ideal candidate will be a motivated professional with experience working in a dynamic environment who can balance a penchant for complex research and analysis with the ability to highlight critical & actionable insights to senior management. We are looking for someone who is intellectually curious, resilient, and resourceful. The successful candidate will have strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively and independently.
What you will do:
• Manage key elements of the construction of UTA's annual budget and ongoing financial forecasts
• Prepare monthly P&Ls and dashboards with actual vs. budget commentary at a departmental level
• Partner with finance, accounting, & various department leaders to hone assumptions & context behind financial forecasts
• Research variances including actual vs. budget and actual vs. prior year
• Create financial models to help with analysis and consolidation
• Provide management reports and analysis as requested
• Track industry trends and assess how changes may impact UTA's lines of business
• Assist on special projects that address key strategic issues at the Company
• Communicate issues to management both in writing and verbally
• Support system or process improvement projects
• Assist with merger integration projects, as needed
What you will need:
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required; MBA preferred
• Minimum 4 years of prior experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, Management Consulting, or Investment Banking; entertainment industry preferred
• Previous experience with budgeting, forecasting, analysis and financial modeling/reporting
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate with colleagues internal & external to finance & accounting teams
• Ability to analyze large amounts of financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections
• Effective at presenting information and responding to questions from management
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI is a plus
• Experience in using and managing budget/planning systems (NetSuite) preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
