Lead, Design - Siberia

Siberia is seeking a Design Lead to join the Siberia design team. Designers at Siberia work hand-in-hand with our PM, strategy and engineering teams to partner with our clients on projects ranging from design research and vision setting, to from-scratch production launches and everything in between.

Our designers are ambitious problem-seekers and problem-solvers, motivated and self-driven. We are looking for talent with a light but substantive portfolio and a demonstrated interest in the innovation and product design space. We welcome candidates with a mix of UX, UI or motion-oriented backgrounds, and expect to help you develop your abilities across all three as a hybrid product designer.

Together with senior design staff and cross-discipline peers, our Design Lead will break down business and customer problems, imagine new and beautiful solutions, and help bring great experiences to life.

You will work alongside a small but accomplished team on mission-critical a assignments for high-profile clients, so this will be an opportunity to grow professionally and personally.

What You'll Do
• Create detailed design systems, guidelines and requirement documents
• Apply human-centered design principles to your work and advocate for user needs.
• Lead or support user research exercises when applicable.
• Manage design iteration cycles, versioning, and the general design workflow.
• Make design recommendations, participants in design reviews, and defend those decisions.
• Learn from senior designers to expand your knowledge, craft and soft skills.
• Bring a fresh perspective to the team and use it to guide our work to unexpected and relevant spaces.
• Work on 1 - 2 major engagements, while dipping in and out of smaller tasks to help peripheral projects, pitches, social and other internal work progress.
• Help us evolve the Siberia brand and culture that we all contribute to.

What You'll Need
• 3+ years of experience working in design teams.
• Team player that places client and cross-discipline team inputs on an equal playing field to design.
• Comfort with ambiguity and ability to ''embrace the chaos'', a core Siberia value.
• A passion for applying strategy, design and technology to help businesses change the way they interact with each other and the world A portfolio of digital products, processes and design systems.
• A detail oriented approach to design and pride in high quality work.
• Have played a central role in shipping multiple products to market and can point to examples.
• Follow through ability: interested in ''finishing'' a project, not just the initial discovery.
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to clearly articulate and explain complex design problems.
