Role: Producer's Assistant
Dates: Full Time to start ASAP for a 3 month trial period
An independent start up film production company and creative agency startup forged by The Ummah Chroma, a filmmaking collective of Terence Nance, Bradford Young, Jenn Nkiru, Nanette Nelms and Mishka Browns is looking for a skilled Producer's Assistant. UCCP produces content that ranges from Features, Series, Short Form, and Branded Content. Clients & Collaborators include but are not limited to: Rage Against the Machine, The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, Telfar, and The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
This is a great opportunity to work in a small and intimate company that allows for involvement in many areas of production. Must be open to wear many hats and able to work Remote and In-Person as necessary. Looking for someone who feels joy from film production and someone who is interested to be a part of a growing start up company.
Core Responsibilities:
• Assistant to Executive Producers Mishka Brown & Nanette Nelms on Projects (UCCP and outside UCCP) scheduling meetings, task management, meeting minutes, comms, and misc. tasks as needed.
• Support UCCP Productions in all stages from development to delivery including but not limited to prepping budgets, bidding, assistance with creative development, research, proofing copy for treatments, project calendars, locations, crewing, etc.
• Project Management & tracking of multiple jobs at different stages
• Build and support UCCP production guidelines and databases for optimal workflow and onboarding freelancers. -
• Support Business Affairs Management around legal and accounting.
Qualities:
Agile, detailed, strong communicator, proactive, organized, problem solver, strong scheduler and writer.
Experience:
Experience with Executive Assistant work, office production, on-the-ground producing and/or knowledge of budgeting is preferred. NYC based preferred. Skilled experience using Google Drive and Google Calendar required. Experience with Airtable, WireDrive, and Showbiz Budgeting a plus.?
