JOB DESCRIPTION
The Twentieth Century Fox Television Financial Reporting Group provides financial statements and analysis to WDT Management and Controllership. This department is responsible for reporting the financial performance of hundreds of shows over different markets. The Senior Financial Analyst of this team will be responsible for various key functions that support the month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes including but not limited to revenue recognition, journal entries, revenue/deferred/unbilled reconciliations, intercompany confirmations, tax credit rollforwards and adhoc requests by management. This role will also work closely with other internal Disney divisions, including Corporate Controllership, Media divisions, FP&A, SOX and distribution teams.
The purpose of this job is to assist the team in providing financial analysis for Twentieth Century Fox Television Group under Walt Disney Television. This role will be responsible for journal entries, monthly reconciliations, and assisting in closing the books on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis. This position will play an important role to help the team to prioritize tasks, keep track of the project processes, reconcile and explain variances daily, along with various ad hoc analysis.
• Prepare revenue recognition for initial-air deliveries, including review of ultimate, deliveries and front of house system interface to PeopleSoft
• Assist with maintaining deliveries – update monthly deliveries and communicate with post-production partners on post charts, prepare the international delivery schedule, update pilot status, update greenlight status
• Prepare monthly/quarterly journal entries – Net fee income, tax credit receivables, Lego Block reclasses and adjusting entries, overhead allocations
• Prepare the monthly divisional and consolidated P&L financial statements
• Prepare monthly reconciliations – deferred, unbilled, cash, etc., along with researching variances, and reaching out to various markets for explanations
• Confirmation/review of intercompany balances
• Prepare quarterly/annual footnote disclosures – tax credit receivable roll forward, write-off schedules, related party schedule, ASC606 disclosures, Revenue by region, Ad Expense
• Compile financial information for external auditors, SOX audits and tax packages
• Assist with testing of system integration of general ledgers, front of house systems, projects management
• Handle various ad hoc projects and requests as needed
Experience
• Knowledge of accounting
• 3-5 years relevant accounting experience, preferred
• Strong Excel skills with ability to extract data, use pivot tables and leverage macros
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Positive ''can do'' attitude
• Knowledge of SAP general ledger and projects functionality desired
• Knowledge of Hyperion
• Strong interest in TV business
• CPA, preferred
Education
Minimum
• Bachelor's Degree- Accounting, Finance or related field
