The Key Account Manager position is responsible for building premier relationships with Key Account Players (KAP) and securing new KAPs either through recruitment or development of current accounts. The position is responsible for educating KAPs regarding TVG services, partnering with KAPs to assist them in meeting their wagering goals and maximizing and maintaining revenue from assigned accounts. The position serves as the primary liaison between assigned key account holders and TVG business units; responding to KAP concerns, wagering issues and working closely with other customer relations staff in support of KAP needs.
Essential Functions
- Build and maintain premium relationships with KAPs
- Secure new KAPs through recruitment and / or development of existing accounts
- Meet with KAPs customers at various events throughout region
- Track and report on VIP performance and offer marketing strategies
- Represent TVG at sponsored or other designated events.
- Promote TVG customer good will and educate customers on TVG services and products
- Assist in development and operation of VIP handicapping contests and promotions
- Be on call for KAPs 24/7; able to work flexible shifts and days incl holidays
Qualifications/Experience
- Minimum of three to five years experience in a customer service, sales or racing industry position required
- Knowledge and understanding of the horse racing industry required
- Knowledge of pari-mutuel wagering preferred
- Must be a self-starter and problem solver
- Excellent verbal, telephone, and written communication skills required
- Ability to actively listen
- Maintain professional business standards at all times
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be willing to travel extensively
- Ability to work autonomously ; may work from home or office on occasion
- Ability to relate and communicate with diverse customer base
Training/Education/Certification
- Bachelor's Degree from accredited university required
- Knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel and databases preferred
Licensure: Must pass licensing requirements of the Oregon Racing Commission. Failure to be licensed or retain licensure will result in termination of employment.
