TV Guide has an immediate opening for a Program Scheduling Manager to manage its program planning and scheduling in accordance with the network's strategy. The role will manage the scheduling of all programming on the linear channel and video on demand service.
Responsibilities for this position will include:
• Manage the network program schedules and coordinate efforts with Program Research to evaluate current schedules and build performance-based strategies for future schedules.
• Develop creative stunting opportunities with TVGN movie library and work closely with marketing group to bring them to life on-air.
• Help identify acquisition needs, as well as update and maintain acquisition grids of current/future/prospective programming with contractual dates and run/exhibitions.
• Update and maintain the program asset database with current contract information, run availability and scheduling parameters.
• Responsible for developing and communicating monthly VOD schedule and folder structure to VOD Operations team and Affiliate Sales for technical, MSO and CMC. Lead all functions/needs including promos, delivery dates and implementing new productive procedures to ensure better time efficiency and overall quality of VOD schedule for alignment with our Network strategy.
• Create/Manage all program formats working closely with Ad Sales, Traffic, Producers and Research to optimize ratings and fulfill our agreements for national ads/local avails. Create all special formats including top spots, interstitials and integrations for ad sales.
• Provide broadcast air date reports to acquired programming distributors on a monthly basis.
• Weekly meeting/planning with the Re-cuts and Post Production teams on deliverables and version requirements for acquired and outsourced programming including appropriate lengths, edit approval for content and deadlines for air.
• Oversee all SIMS, Intranet, Encompass, ION, Tribune, Rovi, Vault and Massstore functions for listings partners.
• Annual budget run pattern projections and telecast counts for all future programming.
• Serve as initial contact for daily internal program, schedule and format issues from other departments.
• Ensure work-flow processes between Programming and other departments occur as planned.
Job Requirements:
Candidates should have at least 3-5 years of related experience that demonstrates a solid understanding of scheduling and programming and a comprehensive knowledge of cable network operations. Fluency with SIMS is a plus, as well as strong Excel and PowerPoint skills. Candidates must be extremely organized and motivated with the ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task in a very fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. The successful candidate will have a strong disposition with excellent written and communication skills. A college degree is preferred.
