Part Time Unpaid Internship
What does our department do?
The Privacy Operations team is responsible for the protection of WarnerMedia's critical and sensitive data through the strategic development and maintenance of a privacy program following by best practices, applicable laws, and policies; including but not limited to PCI regulations, EU Data Directives (Privacy Shield and GDPR), State laws (CCPA and others) and FCC / FTC regulations.
What will you be doing?
• Learning and understanding business strategies and priorities and their implications on privacy and data use, technology architecture and standards, and data governance.
• Engineering and implementing privacy tools and solutions to efficiently handle legal and compliance documentation and to implement privacy functionality (i.e., cookie preferences, consent management, data subject rights requests) as required by law.
• Collaborating with applicable IT and business teams to encourage privacy by design and default when engineering new systems; to increase company-wide awareness of privacy initiatives, legislation, and best practices; and to ensure compliance with applicable laws and policies.
What do we require from you?
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree majoring in Information Security, Assurance, Risk Management, Pre-law, Computer Science, Information Systems and Audit.
• Knowledge of data privacy, compliance, big data, IT controls, or anything audit related
• Familiarity with how data, applications, and technology interact.
• Analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organization skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to work independently and complete assignments in expected timeframes.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Sense of ownership of his/her work, working well both independently and within a small collaborative team.

Internship dates are January 21, 2020 – May 8, 2020. All interns are expected to work 20 hours per week and paid competitively based on location (relocation is not provided). Participation in the internship program is reserved for students who are currently enrolled or within 6 months post-graduation. Most positions are targeted to upperclassmen and graduate students. Candidates must be qualified and available to work at the time the application is submitted. Full-time employment is not guaranteed at the end of the program.
