Multimedia Journalist, Houston TX (this is an off-air position)
The Multimedia Journalist, also known as a Cross-Platform Video Producer is responsible for independent story generation, idea development, visual storytelling, and production of live and recorded event coverage across all WarnerMedia platforms.
The Daily
• Must be a highly experienced journalist with a demonstrated ability to work in all environments creating and producing live and pre-produced content.
• Experienced collaborator able to work in fast paced, broadcast, digital, social, and mobile environments as an independent idea generator, storyteller, and newsgatherer.
• This position requires craft production and technical skills, and extensive editorial experience which allows the Cross-Platform Video Producer to excel in independent generation of ideas, logistics implementation, journalistic ethics, creative storytelling, videography, editing, and content transmission.
• The Cross-Platform Video Producer must be a proven team leader and collaborator who is capable of exercising competent, real-time decision making in their understanding and coverage of news events for distribution of live and recorded event coverage for consumption across the WarnerMedia organization.
• This position will primarily cover the Houston, Texas area, in addition to selected domestic and international assignments as required.
• Travel required; on-call 24/7 consistent with all CNN newsgathering roles.
The Essentials
• Bachelor's Degree in communications, journalism, television production or related field
• 5 years in breaking news and 24/7 field production
• 5 years editorial/newsgathering/live event production
• 5 years' experience in breaking news 24/7 environment
• Demonstrable craft shooting, editing and producing skills
• Must be highly experienced in cinema camera production and workflow, post-production editing tools, web publishing, social media usage, BGAN transmission, cellular transmission, remote IP stream using a laptop computer, camera-to-satellite truck connectivity, studio liveshots and other emerging technologies.
• Must be accredited to work in the United States
• Fluency in Spanish language preferred
• FAA Drone certification preferred
