IT Support Specialist - Production & Post-Production
Location: On-Site
Duration: Three months
Schedule: Mon-Fri/10AM - 6PM
Compensation: Weekly Rate; $1200 -$1600
Working under the IT Director's guidance, you'll troubleshoot technical issues, maintain workstations, assist with network and server support, and create clear technical documentation. The ideal candidate brings practical IT support experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to handle routine support requests independently while following established procedures and escalating appropriately.
This position has an initial three-month term. At the end of that period, we will evaluate opportunities for continued employment based on business needs.
Responsibilities:
? Provide technical support for Windows and Mac computers, applications, peripherals, and user accounts.
? Support remote staff by troubleshooting remote desktop connections, VPN access, and connectivity issues.
? Diagnose PC hardware problems and assist with component installation, upgrades, repairs, and workstation deployment.
? Troubleshoot network issues involving Ethernet, Wi-Fi, IP addressing, DNS, and DHCP.
? Support Microsoft Office, Microsoft 365, and Google Workspace applications.
? Assist with user onboarding and offboarding, including account setup, email access, permissions, and software licensing.
? Assist with server maintenance, shared storage, file permissions, and FTP/SFTP services under the IT Director's direction.
? Support Avid Media Composer workstations and remote editing workflows, with guidance provided for production-specific systems.
? Assist with Adobe Creative Cloud application installation, updates, licensing, and common technical issues.
? Create and maintain technical documentation, including setup instructions, troubleshooting guides, and support procedures.
? Document support requests, communicate progress, and follow issues through to resolution.
? Maintain equipment inventory and help organize IT equipment and supplies.
Required Qualifications
? At least two years of hands-on IT support, help desk, or desktop support experience.
? Strong troubleshooting skills in both Windows and macOS environments.
? Experience supporting remote users through remote access tools, phone, video calls, and written communication.
? Practical understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, switches, routers, and VPNs.
? Solid understanding of PC hardware, including identifying components, diagnosing failures, and performing upgrades or replacements.
? Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and OneDrive.
? Experience using and supporting Google Workspace, including Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Calendar.
? Ability to create accurate technical documentation and follow written and verbal instructions.
? Strong communication, organization, and follow-through, with patience when assisting nontechnical users.
? Ability to work under the IT Director's guidance, communicate progress, and recognize when an issue requires escalation.
? Good judgment when handling confidential information, administrative access, and changes to shared systems.
? Ability to safely lift and move equipment weighing approximately 30-50 pounds.
