Description:
Seeking full time creative development coordinator for a newly organized production company headed by award-winning producer Tara Smith and Writer-Producers B. Swibel & Adam Westbrook. Specializing in ground floor story creation, development & production for film, television, theater and web, as well as arts education. The company's extensive experience has had them collaborating and producing with partners and distributors that include: HBO television, NBC Universal, Heyday Films, Archie Comics, Gary Sanchez Productions, Mosaic Media and world-class artists ranging from ELO to Stevie Wonder; Adam McKay and Will Ferrell to the late James Gandolfini, among many others.
Responsibilities include:
- Working directly with writers B. Swibel and Adam Westbrook and producer Tara Smith and company to coordinate and organize the Story Development process; Interfacing with a wide variety of 3rd party artists & collaborators & producers to ensure creative development. Includes:
- Attending meetings with creatives; generating detailed notes and deliverables
- Managing writers' overall calendars; including booking of travel; scheduling of creative meetings
- Ensuring preparedness for meetings (including Coordinating the execution of and delivery of materials for creative meetings)
- Strategizing, innovating and implementing logistical processes for maximum creative output
- Analyzing in-house and 3rd party creative materials (including. narrative works such as screenplays, books, etc.) and providing feedback to creative team
- Developing strategic ideas and deliverables regarding execution of creative concepts (i.e., ''packaging'' proposals, 3rd party buyer and distribution proposals)
- Research, Sourcing and creation of deliverables in connection to process oriented solutions
- Managing and curating company's creative database
- Developing & generating budgets for creative processes; interfacing with Production on execution of budgets
- Managing expenditures from the creative development process & creating deliverables for Production
- Traveling with Writers/producers as necessary
Qualifications:
- Excellent writing, research, communication, organizational and formal project management skills
- Interest in the entertainment field (Dramatic Writing, Visual Design, Music & Producing for Film, TV, Theater and Web)
- Strong facility with organizational spread sheets and related programs (Excel; Numbers; Word; Pages)
- Strong facility with creative tech platforms
- Ability to think and plan ahead; work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent judgment and the ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and prioritize among various projects
- Flexibility and openness to take on new projects and tasks and support a busy team in a growing organization
- Flexibility for travel on a moment's notice
