Award winning production company, Treeline Film, is seeking a Development Coordinator/Creative Executive to work on site. The candidate will report directly to the company's Owner and Principal whose credits include the SCREAM franchise, WALK THE LINE, GIRL INTERRUPTED, 3:10 TO YUMA, IDENTITY, KNIGHT & DAY on the features side. In television, she's responsible for MEN IN TREES, VEGAS, ZOO, and WIRELESS. The company currently has a slate of multiple film and television projects in all stages of development.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for storytelling, producing, and relationship building. This role will be largely creative in nature, with some additional administrative duties such as rolling calls, scheduling meetings, taking meeting notes, and running the occasional errand.
The duties will include, but are not limited to:
Sourcing, identifying, and developing feature and television projects that fulfill the company's vision.
Having, maintaining and building relationships with writers, managers, agents, executives, producers and talent.
Curating lists of writers, actors, directors, and buyers for various projects and general tracking.
Seeking, identifying and tracking quality scripts, IP and writers, especially emerging talent, from traditional and non-traditional methods.
Working closely with writers and providing thoughtful constructive development notes.
Possessing a strong ability to assess, break and develop story.
Contributing to the company's efforts to package development projects with directors, talent and financing.
Supporting the company across operations, production, legal, finance, etc.
Qualifications:
2+ years in a development role within a studio or production company is required (agency experience a plus).
