For anyone seeking a career in A&R, music business, curation, journalism, etc...
... For anyone who's ready to prove that you have an eye for talent to record executives, music journalists, and emerging stars...
... For anyone who really knows their scene - whether it's Brooklyn drill music, Chicago-based creative directors, acid house DJs, or entertainment lawyers for top recording artists...
Treble would like to offer a platform to recognize you as a thought leader in your space.
Next month, we're releasing our new homepage and we are seeking standout curators in the music industry to join us in showcasing the best emerging talent and professionals in the game.
Your responsibilities will center on our new soon-to-launch feature called Treble Charts.
Treble Charts are shortlists of quality industry talent curated by location, vibe, or different use-cases throughout an artist's career (ex. ''Best Mastering Engineers in NY,'' ''Designers for Psychedelic Cover Art,'' or ''Managers for New Wave Indie Bands.'') Our goal is to build an editorial network across the country to curate the entire music industry. And through this network, we will ensure that the right charts get in front of the right people at the right time.
Vision For Curator Program:
We aim to build a community of tastemakers across every major scene and city worldwide by tapping local curators at global scale. Within every major music city, there will be a curation team identifying and introducing the next wave of game-changing talent to the people behind the industry.
The curation team will operate under three main pillars:
• Recorded Music (artists, songwriters, producers, session musicians, engineers, etc.)
• Visual Media (photo, video, design, creative direction, animation, etc.)
• Music Business (PR, marketing, managers, lawyers, brands, execs, etc.)
Today, we are offering you a chance to be a part of our inaugural curation team under one of these pillars. You will be working directly with our executive team as we roll out this feature and build the blueprint that will be replicated across the country and eventually the world.
You might be a good fit for this if you are someone who...
• Is ambitious and hungry to establish your reputation within the music industry.
• Has outstanding professional and creative instincts and a relentless work ethic. This opportunity will get you only as far as the work you put in. The connections you make are the ones only you seek out.
• Knows your scene exceptionally well. Whatever your preferred pillar is, you need to know it like the back of your hand. You need to pursue a strong rolodex of relationships, you need to keep your ear to the ground for emerging talent in that space so you can reach out and forge relationships with them, and whenever someone asks you for a recommendation, you should always know exactly who to suggest. If your area of focus is hip hop publicists, you should be able to recommend the perfect person to anyone in the industry based on their specific needs and desired skillsets.
What You'll Get:
If you are selected, from day one, you will be seeking out and meeting dozens of industry contacts on a weekly basis. You will establish personal relationships with professionals across every level of the industry. You will have a chance to develop your reputation as a thought leader within your area of expertise. And you will work alongside other young ambitious curators, each with their own area of focus, in a collaborative, egoless atmosphere.
Treble has built a highly valuable community of industry players and renowned artists. Some include Blue Bookhard (Tidal), Alyssa Castiglia, Justin Shukas (founder of Primary wave), Olivia O'Leary (National Head of Culture and Lifestyle for Jagermeister), Mike Boyd (Head of Music for Vaynermedia), and partnerships with music companies like Island Records.
Responsibilities:
• Identify and foster relationships with top talent focused on music-related work in your curatorial pillar.
• Curate new weekly charts that address the biggest needs within our user base.
• Regularly update the most popular charts you've created based on the needs, tastes,
and behaviors of our users who interact with them.
• Collaborate with our team of curators, each of whom will be focused on their own
specific role, pillar, city, or ''scene,'' to build a tactical and dependable curatorial strategy.
Start Date: ASAP
End: 3 months, with possibility to continue
~15-20 hours per week
School Credit can be arranged
Sincerely,
The Treble Team
