TRANSIT, a decorated entertainment advertising agency based in Los Angeles, is a company of many talented creatives who are passionate about what they do and how they do it. Now 12 years into its existence, TRANSIT has built up an impressive body of work and seeks a dedicated Director of IT to manage the company IT infrastructure and take it into its future growth phases.
The ideal candidate must be extremely motivated, focused, detail oriented, be able to work under pressure, have an amazing attitude, and a hunger for learning and stretching their boundaries. TRANSIT seeks a driven individual looking to enter into a dynamic creative agency and help build the company and its infrastructure well into the future. The Director of IT, will be responsible for all aspects of the company's IT systems, as well as for setting the protocols necessary for secure operation of the facility (both network security and physical security), and proper finishing of the company's video content.
Core Responsibilities:
•Managing, engineering, analyzing and implementing all IT infrastructure for optimal productivity, operational costs, ease of use, and maintaining content security.
•Management of the Company's entire Network topology including designing and implementing policies for its Firewall as well as VLANs and subnets as required.
•Management of the company's primary macOS based Hardware and Software Inventory.
•Management of the company's StorNext fibre channel SAN and clients, including access control lists, adding and deleting users, upgrading RAID arrays
•Management and Design of the company's Cloud, Nearline and LTO backup architecture and procedures for all the individual workstations as well as all Centralized and Cloud Storage
•Design and implementation of the company's information security/physical security protocols and procedures. This will require periodic internal re-evaluation of the company's existing security infrastructure and procedures to ensure compliance with studio partner requirements and MPA/TPN guidelines as well as conducting security audits and investigations.
•Management of the Company's Cloud services: Google WorkSpace, WireDrive, Box.com, etc.
•Develop and maintain relationships with external IT vendors and service providers.
•Management of the company's FileMaker Server which serves as a corporate intranet which that all elements, employees hours, billings, and contacts
- •Evaluation of new software and hardware creative tools and workflows that can be implemented for the company to remain competitive in the sector and increase overall efficiency of the creative and production process.
•Design and Implementation of Remote and Hybrid Solutions for virtual workstations utilizing JUMP, Teradici, and similar solutions.
•Design and Implementation of A/V hardware and physical suites and bays required for Picture Finishing, Audio Mixing, Recording, Production, and Client presentation.
•Management of the company's Mitel PBX based phone system
•Assisting with other duties as it relates to the facility infrastructure, such as building power, access control systems, etc.
- Requirements:
•Experience managing IT in an Entertainment or Creative Environment
•Knowledge of macOS, Open Directory Server, SAN/NAS systems, Windows Client and Server, and VMWare vSphere
•Knowledge of and experience with firewall design, network segmentation, protocols, cablings, and implementations
•Knowledge and experience with Business Continuity and Security Protocols to minimize disruption and safeguard Client and Company Data
•Knowledge of VPN, DNS, LDAP, HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, UDP, SSH, RDP, AFP, SMB, NFS, and other common protocols
•Knowledge and experience with various web hosting services
•Location within the Los Angeles Area and working on premises at our LA facility
•Strong technical aptitude and desire to continuously learn and apply new knowledge and techniques
•Youthful Enthusiasm, with a healthy dose of curiosity, and energy for problem solving
•Genuine passion and love of IT, Film and TV, and the advertising making you are supporting
- Icing on the Cake:
•SonicWall Firewall Expertise
•Familiarity with NLE video editorial applications (Adobe Premiere, Avid, and Davinci Resolve) and StorNext SAN solutions
•Experience with Active Directory Servers
•Experience designing and implementing After Effects, Cinema 4D, and Nuke based workstations and render farms on OS X and Linux clusters
•Experience with video game engines and capture
•Advanced Education (preferably Masters or MBA in MIS/IT), Certifications, and Formal Training in Network Design, InfoSec, IT
