Role
Our Content division creates content that excites and activates marketing campaigns for both brand and entertainment clients. We are looking for a Junior Post Production Supervisor to supervise a team of assistant editors and manage the day-to-day assignments. This role would suit someone who has been a lead assistant supervisor that wants to move into a supervisory position and enjoys managerial responsibilities.
Responsibilities
• Day to day scheduling of Assistant Editorial staff, as well as coordinating with Senior Post Production Supervisor on Assistant Editor bookings in advance or over longer stretches.
• Oversight of ticket quality and clarity.
• At the time of assignment or as priorities change alert both the Producing and Assistant Editor teams of the ticket priority order.
• Check in with Assistant Editors as ticket deadlines approach.
• End of Day check-ins with both Producing and Assistant Editor teams to determine: status of incomplete tickets, reminding Assistant Editors to send updates, and upcoming possible overtime work for that evening .
• Work with all the Assistant Editors on troubleshooting issues in Final Cut, Avid, Premiere, and DaVinci Resolve.
• Run small group training sessions for new workflows and/or for Assistant Editors who might not be familiar with a particular software.
• Check completed Assistant Editor requests (such as ingests, exports, and preps for finish) for work flow, organization, and specs accuracy.
• Make sure all Assistant Editors are following strict security protocol.
• Attend weekly meeting with the Director of Post Production and the Senior Post Production Supervisor to discuss upcoming projects and new workflows that need to be implemented.
• Collaborate with Director of Post Production and the Senior Post Production Supervisor on new or updated workflows and update the written editorial guidelines when necessary.
• Check all Nexis workspaces and alert the Archivist if any workspace is getting low on space.
• Help the Producing staff with explanations of our editorial practices if they have any questions.
Qualifications
• 2 years of professional editorial experience
• Extensive knowledge of AVID
• Understanding to intermediate knowledge of Final Cut 7/Premiere and DaVinci Resolve
• Understanding of frame rates, conversions, & codecs
• Understanding of HD/SD formats, file and tape based deliveries
• Understanding of shared area network storage (ISIS/Nexis)
Preferred Qualifications
• Any AVID, FCP, APPLE, Adobe Certifications a plus
• Photoshop a plus
• Knowledge of HDCAM SR and D5 decks a plus
• Knowledge of ProTools a plus
Knowledge/Skills

Education
Bachelors’ degree, or equivalent experience.
