Role
Trailer Park is looking for an experienced and skilled Director of Business Affairs to join their Business Affairs & Compliance team. The ideal candidate would have an excellent working knowledge of entertainment and brand industry and studio standards with a particular focus on talent and production. The position will require initiative, agility, and a desire to take on a diverse array of projects/productions, a team-oriented approach and effective internal and external communication.
Responsibilities
• Negotiate and draft on-camera and off-camera union and non-union talent compensation, usage and renewal terms.
• Source voiceover talent auditions for Producers.
• Participate in project scoping discussions, providing Producers and Client teams with estimates using Extreme Reach platform for session fees, usage, residuals, and all other talent related costs of production.
• Review and assess storyboards/scripts, rough cuts and final creative for legal or clearance concerns.
• Create session reports, review holding fee notifications and issue talent advices for usage in compliance with SAG-AFTRA.
• Evaluate, manage and settle SAG-AFTRA claims.
• Review talent invoices and reconcile with purchase orders.
• Create and update Font License, Production, Post Production and Accounts training for all Engine divisions.
• Review production, location and vendor agreements for Live Production font, image and video license agreements for Post Production.
• Create SOPs for sourcing union vs. non-union talent, employing minors and stunt performers on productions and font license parameters.
• Advise Agency teams and Clients on union rules, regulations and best practices.
• Draft SOWs, amendments and generate NDAs.
• Trademark searches for proposed branding, taglines, signage, design etc.
• Assist Trailer Park and sister companies Deep Focus (LA/SF/NY), Moment Studios (NY) and WCRS (London) on talent estimates and agreements, questions and issues related to union and non-union productions and company procedures.
• In-person production, accounts, licensing and compliance trainings at LA and NY offices.
• Work closely with company’s worldwide production, finance and accounts divisions.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree
• Maintain Confidentiality
• A minimum of 5-8 years of experience in Talent Management/Business Affairs
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to review and negotiate agreements from simple to complex
• Strong organizational skills with careful attention to detail
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a team-based environment
• Capacity to work independently, prioritize and meet deadlines
• Experience in traditional media, social and digital distribution channels
• Experience in drafting releases, licenses, contracts and amendments
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Ability to prepare independently reports, charts, diagrams and spreadsheets
• Analytical and observational skills to provide quick and common sense recommendations
• Experience within the entertainment and advertising industry
