MIRADA/TRAILER PARK GROUP
Mirada is looking for an experienced and skilled Business Affairs Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate would have an excellent working knowledge of live action commercial production with a particular focus on crew, talent, and production workflows including union guidelines. The position will require initiative, agility, and a desire to take on a diverse array of projects/productions, a team-oriented approach and effective internal and external communication.
Responsibilities
• Manage Talent on-boarding, paperwork and payments through paymasters CAPS and TEAMS
• On set SAG-AFTRA liaison, when needed.
• Negotiate and draft on-camera and off-camera union and non-union talent compensation, usage, and renewal terms.
• Participate in project scoping discussions, providing Producers and client teams with estimates using Extreme Reach platform for session fees, usage, residuals, and all other talent related costs of production.
• Review and assess storyboards/scripts, rough cuts, and final creative for legal or clearance concerns.
• Create session reports, review holding fee notifications and issue talent advice for usage and TORs, in compliance with SAG-AFTRA.
• Review talent invoices and reconcile with purchase orders.
• Review agency/client, production service, talent, location, and vendor agreements for Live Production.
• Review font, image, video license agreements, and vendor agreements for Post-Production
• Create SOPs for sourcing talent, employing minors, and stunt performers on productions
• Work with Insurance Broker on analysis of insurance needs, managing COIs and insurance claims, etc.
• Advise internal team on union rules, regulations, and best practices.
• Review Production, Location, and Vendor Agreements.
• Establish agency/client contracts, location release, art releases, etc.
• DGA contract liaison
• Work closely with company's finance division.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree
• Maintain Confidentiality
• A minimum of 5-8 years of experience in Live Action Commercial Production/Talent Management/Business Affairs
• Extensive knowledge and experience of Extreme Reach Platform
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to review and negotiate agreements from simple to complex
• Strong organizational skills with careful attention to detail
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a team-based environment
• Capacity to work independently, prioritize and meet deadlines
• Experience in traditional media, social and digital distribution channels
• Experience in drafting releases, licenses, contracts, and amendments
• Proficiency in Google and Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Analytical and observational skills to provide quick and common-sense recommendations
• Experience within the live-action commercial production industry
