We are currently hiring for the position of:
SENIOR MANAGER, CONTENT
As the Senior Manager, Content, you will play a crucial role in shaping and executing TIFF's social media and video content strategies. Reporting to the Director, Marketing, you will lead a team of content producers responsible for creating engaging and compelling content across TIFF’s social media and online video channels (TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, X, Letterboxd) and in-person at TIFF Lightbox (in-cinema, digital signage).
Your primary focus will be developing innovative campaigns, developing content calendars, and ensuring brand engagement and growth across all social and video channels to showcase and support:
• Festival and year-round programming
• Revenue generation (ticket sales, retail and concessions)
• Development (Membership, fundraising and Industry)
• Corporate and media partner activations
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Strategy Development: In collaboration with the Director, Marketing, develop comprehensive social media and video content strategies aligned to TIFF’s strategic objectives and audiences goals. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continuously optimize strategies.
• Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of full-time social media and video producers by providing guidance and feedback fostering a collaborative and creative work environment.
• This includes hiring, onboarding and management of seasonal production staff and independent contractors to execute on Festival-specific deliverables.
• Content Creation: Oversee the creation and production of high-quality, engaging content for TIFF’s social media platforms and video channels . Ensure content is tailored to each platform's audience and objectives.
• This includes content capture for live and pre-recorded events and in-studio interviews.
• Content Calendar Management: Develop and manage content calendars, scheduling posts and videos for optimal engagement and reach. Coordinate with internal and industry stakeholders to support programming, revenue, development and partner initiatives.
• Performance Analysis: Establish, track and analyze key performance metrics (eg. engagement, reach, conversion) to evaluate the effectiveness of social media and video content campaigns. Use insights to refine strategies and optimize content for better results.
• Partnerships and Collaborations: Working with the Partnerships and Programming teams, develop and execute on brand, media and programming partnership activations to deliver on KPIs and maximize reach and visibility for TIFF and our partners.
• Budget Management: Manage the social media and video content budget, allocating resources effectively to achieve desired outcomes. Monitor spending and ROI to ensure cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
• Process Management: Create and manage efficient team processes, including production and campaign workbacks, scheduling, contract management, production tracking, sign-off, licensing, and archival footage maintenance and distribution strategies.

WORK LOCATION:
• Office Location: 350 King Street West, Toronto, ON M5V 3X5
• Weekly in-office requirements:
• Minimum 2 days (October to May)
• Minimum 3 days (June to September)
• Festival Office Requirements: Full Time during Festival
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Post-secondary education in a related field (Marketing, Television Broadcasting, New Media Production, Visual and Digital Arts) or equivalent combination of training and work experience
• 7 years in social media management and video content creation, with a focus on strategy development and team leadership
• 4 years experience in managing a creative production team
• Proven track record developing and producing distinctive content related to film and the film industry with a storytelling foundation for various distribution channels, including social media
• Experience and proven ability to write, script, conceptualize and lead a shoot — including live programming.
• Experience in managing multiple productions, budgets, producers, and partners
• Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a track record of mentoring and developing high-performing teams
• Additional experience in writing, production management, and other aspects of development and production, including content licensing
SKILLS:
• In-depth knowledge of social media platforms, trends, and best practices, including vertical video for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts
• Proficiency in social media management tools and analytics platforms
• Strong creative and analytical skills, with the ability to develop innovative content strategies and analyze performance metrics
• Acute understanding of Adobe Creative Cloud, especially for video editing in Premiere and motion/title design in After Effects
• Editorial expertise, with the ability to evaluate and give clear, constructive feedback on ideas, treatments, productions, story editing and brand alignment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners
• Experience managing budgets and negotiating with vendors and contractors
• Ability to lead a team with vision, empathy, and critical thinking – grounded delivering work on time and strategy
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Passion for digital marketing and staying ahead of industry trends
